Hey - this is the Wiggins appreciation thread.

So, back on track ...

I appreciate that Wiggins has given anorexics everywhere the hope to race bikes  (he is really beginning to look a bit scary)

Ha yes, he's going to make Andy Schleck look like he needs to attend Fat Fighter's sessions!

Oh, I didn't take that photo. I've got a lot of photos from the day, but that's not one of them. We had to hurry back down the mountain to board a bus to Bilbao ready for the next few days. I'm not going to be at the Tour this year, always find it a bit too much of a scrum, not as nice an environment as a lot of smaller races. I'll probably be on Arrate, either in Barakaldo or on Valdezcaray, and in Logroño though.

I know what you mean, enjoy La Vuelta. I'll have to get down for that one day. I expect I'll find plenty of Basques in the Alps though!

Yeah it doesn't seem weight loss effects ITT. I mean look at Westra, also only seemed to get stronger because of it.

I do think it hurts Wiggins in really short, very powerful efforts though. A pursuit on track like he did in the old days is not possible with this weight I think.

We've only seen Westra in an MTT so far, obviously his weight loss didn't hurt him there...

Must admit I'm no Wiggins fan matter of fact I don't particularly care for him, but I just finished watching yesterdays Romandie stage and must say I'm impressed! Don't think I've ever seen Wiggins take a sprint before and he kicked twice. He's in marvelous form! Granted there were no sprinters there but still impressive showing! Talking with your legs, best way to do it Wiggo.

BTW way hoping one way or another its a British tour winner, and feel its Wiggins year - back on topic. Just hope Sky leave Cav to fend for himself sometimes instead of using their resources too early - he can manage.

After today your wish seems to be very realistic (cav was dropped whilst pace was being set for Wiggins)

He also had a mechanical.

Yeh he also finished with Pate and Thomas I see so maybe he was supported a bit though they also probably worked their socks of for Wiggins (I didnt see that bit of the race)

Race report said Thomas had been dropped. Wouldn't be surprising after the amount of time he's spent on the track.

I find it a little odd that he looks a little better now than he did in that picture. Must be the camera angle or something making him especially bad as he is far lighter now.

But gosh does he look in need of a cheeseburger or ten at times.

Yeah I have.

I was thinking of the action shots from the races this year, heck the podium shots as well.

Oops, Wiggo didn't have his sprinting legs today...retains a 1 second lead over Ll Sanchez (if he gets to keep his victory, did close the door tad).

Queen stage tomorrow with three Cat 1's.

Not too shabby although like at PN, the gap is minimal with #2...without the 10 second bonus from the sprint he'd only be 2 seconds of Talanzki (sp?)...but he did lose about 10 seconds according to Guimard with that chain jump today.

The weak parcours didn't give him any chance to gap the others. But then the others didn't really have the chance to put time into on him either.

The first man in over 20 years to win the double of P-N and Romandie.

Really, well Brad, lets keep this going man.

I havent really ever been a massive fan of Wiggo. I was a little disappointed he jumped to Garmin to Sky after saying he wouldnt. But slowly he has grown on me.

I have been pleased with how he has seemed to relaxed with age and even over the passed year or so seems more chilled with the Media.
