Alright let's see if that works then. (Banning seems to have no effect)

It's almost been a year now since this tool has been trolling away hasn't it? I think he'll stick around even after his Mancrush retires.

This is what im talking about, first post on the thread from each of you guys. Nothing against any of you, but sometimes you are as bad as each other. Either ignore it, or discuss the topic at hand. If the guys a troll, or a previous banned member, report his post and leave it at that.

You guys created this fiasco :/

Hate to say this guys, but the so called troll has just been making perfectly reasonable posts, raising points of view, and trying to discuss the OP. the ones who have disrupted the threads are the ones who are rising to the bait and doing nothing but going on about who is or isnt a troll.

The thread was going along just fine, troll and all, everyone happily discussing wiggins until the "youre a troll brigade" come along and start causing chaos

Not taking sides, and you all have your various reasons for arguing with the guy, but im just saying it as i see it. Youre as bad as each other. Like 4 year olds arguing over who gets to play with the gun.

You dont do yourself any favours, maybe he is a troll, but while he is posting reasonable posts, which although you may not agree with, are reasonable, just leave him to it. The trouble is by joining together and waging a troll war you come across as bully boy vigilantes and could appear worse than the original problem.

You have to question why is this guy so obsessed with coming back here. Is he on a mission to destroy the forum or does he just want to get people banned also.

As I pointed out way back, it had become easier to spot him early on so he changed tact to try and sneak in unnoticed. Sure, he posts relatively normal at the start but what are his likely intentions. Has he suddenly become reformed somehow, I doubt it.

If someone has been banned that many times, why come back here, why doesnt he just go to the RadioShack site or whatever. I would never consider posting on RadioShack because I just couldnt put up with it and would probably disagree with everything so why bother.

Undoubtedly there is an anti-Armstrong bias on here but I think thats just a true reflection of real cycling fans. For example, I dont think many people have a problem with ImmaculateKadence and he is an admitted Armstrong fan. Why? I dont have the solution for this but surely letting this guy on the forum is not the answer.

I have him on ignore as I do every time he comes back, but that helps **** all unless everybody does it and stops quoting the idiot. Nice of you to stick up for him though, and your yelling about 3 year olds says it all really. Bravo.

Im not so much sticking up for him as being bored with all this lot and their gang mentality. Seriously, its like a school playground in here sometimes. Thing is, we know from their posts they are all intelligent people, they just let themselves get dragged into this bickering.

In Dim's strange world people who intentionally disrupt the forum are not at fault. Everyone should lsit back and et him destroy discussion of any subject that he does not want to be discussed.

But dont you understand.. there is NOTHING you can do. Absolutely nothing.

So what would you prefer.

a) Ignore the guy, pretend he doesnt exist, dont rise to the bait, and go for the quiet route, and simply report him quietly to the moderators
or
b) start an all out flame war with him on the forum and make the situation worse?

If you look at the first three pages and take out all the "youre a troll" posts, its actually a pretty reasonable discussion between several forum members.. Im not that naive I dont understand where you are coming from, but youre approach, as has happened to often in these situations is completely wrong.

Who do you reckon those forum members blame for the thread turning to ****, the troll, or you guys? Who do you reckon on this thread has disrupted the forum??? Honestly????

Its a shame, because the original post was worth discussing and i think some early posters raised some really interesting points, points which now sadly have been ruined.
even more sadly Im not a part of that ruination :/

Like i say, just saying it as I see it. That is after all one of the reasons you love me ;)

edit: actually going back through the thread, Bro did actually take part in this thread for quiet a while before rising to the bait, so credit there, youre not the rampant warlord you at first appear.

This forum is full of hypocrites. They treat this 'troll' who ever never seen an offensive post from*, or start a trolling arguement, in much the same way as some of the peloton treated Bassons back in 1998 for having opinions out of step with the majority. It's mob bullying, pure and simple. (Some have even admitted that it might have been an innocent new poster, but they still have to hound anyone who breaks they're own little 'omerta').

*Maybe there was something a long time ago, but I expect it may have been due a lot of provocation judging by the way most of you are carrying on.

He has had plenty of offensive posts, many have been deleted by moderators. He has been banned for a reason. His strategy is simple, to disrupt the forum.

This could be done by posting something intentionally *** like that Cortisone has never been used in Pro Cycling or Betsy should have commit perjury. His most *** posts are usually followed by "We can all agree"...nobody does.

Once people start ignoring him he starts the baiting. Inventing lies about other posters in order to bait them into responding, Baiting the mods with various claims.

In the end it always ends the same. Various claims of persecution, a ban, and a new username.

He is a very troubled individual who should spend more of his time getting help for his problems then wasting his time here.

so when he appears, just report his appearance to the mods, and drop all this troll comments and baiting, it ruins it for people who just want to read and contribute to threads..

Im done now.

Are we done yet?

I can close the thread and it would diffuse the pointless debate about what is worse 'trolling' or self appointed 'vigilante' posts about said troll. But shut it down here and it just pops up somewhere else.

Like many people who have hit the 'time out' button I am fed up with reading "he said...she said" - it's childish and boring.

Can we all just stick to talking about cycling...

Is there a mod whos bored enough to delete 10 pages so we can get back to the original "interesting" discussion.

And yes, I know, im as bad as the troll and the vigilantes.. Im not sure what my job description is though.

OK. Let's go back to the very start of this thread. 'Piston Pete' posted a couple of extracts from a couple of interviews by Wiggins. Maybe it's worth a discussion maybe it's not. Instead he immediately gets attacked. Maybe some day I'll find a similar interview and post it on here (as a new poster) and post it on another (far more reasonable) forum on which I am more of a regular and contrast the reactions.

But what evidence* have you that this is your troll and not a new poster? His other posts all look fairly innocous to me. As I say, you have developed your own style of 'omerta' here. New posters are hounded out for even slightly opposing the 'they all dope, you can't succeed without doping' mantra that most of you trot out.

As a result of alienating opinions differing for yours and suffercating debate, you have descended into a self-congratulatory cult where you all wallow in your own triumph at being 'enlightened' (for want of a better word) while coming out with (at times) some fearful nonsense.

If this 'troll' gets out of hand, then ban him. But at the moment it is the 'troll police' who are wrecking your forum and making it a joke.

*Not that many of you pay much heed to evidence.

You are giving far to much credit to this weak thread. The entire thread was started as an attempt to troll and bait. All the same user using multiple names

I don't see any particular similarity between the posts, or anything offensive, apart from they all go against The Clinic Creed.

Which comment deserved a banning?

Partly for the entertainment of how ridiculous some of the posts on here get. And I don't like seeing riders being accused of doping without any evidence, so I stick my oar in once in a while.

Back to Wigans.

Dimspace, you are manifestly hypocritical in your pov on Wigans versus Spaniards.

If Wigans' performance came from a Spaniard you would be up in arms. This is jingoism and nationalism run riot. I abhor such views.

Why the selective deleting? If you're going to delete, why not delete ALL of the posts that derailed the thread?

Well then he would just be deleting the posts of the forum posse calling for banning the "troll". They are the ones that derailed this thread.

RR, Bro, etc's definition of troll is somebody that doesn't toe the party line in here, then they start squealing like somebody stole their cookies at lunch.

I'm not saying I agree with this latest reincarnation of BPC, but he makes points worth debating or pointing out where he is wrong. Dimspace is right. Instantly sporting the "troll" card is petty and childish, and is the mark of somebody that can't debate and is immature.

I personally think this thread was rolling along rather nicely, and it was one of the funnier things I have read in awhile. No offense mods, but I wish you didn't exist. ;)

BTW, what thread did Wiggins wikipedia page get discussed? I missed that.

It did take some balls for Wiggins to call out the rest of the top 10 in 2008 as dopers. :D

ok, to be more specific then. I have issues with certain spaniards, primerily climbers, all of whom at some point have been linked with either doping, spanish doctors, gynocologists etc. Which pretty much is any spanish climber over about the last 8 years although i am happy to admit there are exceptions.
Never, has one of my comments from probably six months ago, been used to often, against me, and so often out of context.

Wiggins on the other hand, has not had any links with spanish doctors that i know of, has not dropped people on mountains that i know of, unless putting pressure on lance in murcia counts, and as far as I know has no black marks as far as doping goes against his name. If he drops contador ricco style during the tour this year then maybe i will reevaluate that opinion.. ;)

on the other hand, your determination that wiggins is doping, and your refusal to even achknowlege any valid argument to the contrary makes you appear so full of loathing and hatred that its beyond belief. I abhor such views. :D

And no, im not nationalistic, its well known that my favourite rider for many years has been EbH, and amongst others i favour Jens Voigt (german), Geraint (Welsh) Robert Millar (Scottish), Russ Downing (English), Sean Kelly (Irish). Im a Celt anyway first and foremost, then British. Im certainly not english. Ive never listed Brad on my list of favourite riders, but i will defend him, same as I would defend VdV, or EbH, or Jens, or Thomas de Gendt. :p

Seriously though, you do have a real chip on your shoulder about Bradley.
