No panic yet. Kopecky is so strong, she can attack and close the gap to the front quite easily. I think she just might do a 70 k solo, who's able to bring her back?

Well, to my surprise Belgium closed the gap so kudos for this, but kopecky should now be very, very alert. She is the big favorite and would be better off with a smaller group, as Belgium and kopecky can’t control the race with so many still in that group.

yep there were a couple riders who got dropped within 1km of the start, as the rest were just rolling through pace at that stage, I dont know if theyve abandoned already, its difficult because Id hate to see rules restricting which nations/riders can take part, especially in womens pro cycling.

But then you do have to query what the value is to them just riding a couple of kms in a race like this.

Lippert looks the strongest on the climb, consistently coming through the group and hitting the front, but is she expending too much energy too soon? We must not forget that she has embraced the full Movistar experience this season and racing like a headless chicken is part of that.

She's just suffering from the same disease as Guillaume Martin. She can not ride at less than 98%, so she has to attack when the others take the foot off the gas.
