Its Scotland & its the summer holidays. of course its going to rain.

I'm in northern england (sort of) , and as I found out on my morning ride, there is at least one massive rain cloud heading north.

I expect Holland to send AVV away on the climb as this is such a difficult course to control.

the easiest way to forecast the weather in Scotland is to ask is it raining yet...if the answer is no not yet, then it soon will be.

I understand UCI's intention to develop the sport internationally, but what's the point for these athletes from developing countries flying all the way to Scotland, and getting dropped on the first speedbump? Or letting them ride a time trial without a time trial bike? If you do it, make sure they're at least somewhat competitive. This doesn't help them in any way.

Being at the championships can be a feat in itself though. Denying the riders that opportunity won't help them either. If they manage to showcase themselves here, it might also be easier for them to get a contract in Europe.

But that's what I mean, you don't get to showcase yourself if you ride without proper preparation or equipment. How can you expect them to show themselves in a TT without a TT bike?

The UCI can't exactly dictate how the national federations spend their money. But I agree that it probably wouldn't cost them that much money to provide them with equipment for the championships. They might even be able to get sponsors to chip in for the exposure.

when riders from Italy, Belgium, & switzerland are getting dropped... its more to do with the course & conditions.

This is a pretty strong group. Bredewold is a pretty good rider, but even the Dutch shouldn't be too happy about the situation. The Italians are doing the work for now though.

Is this the most stacked breakaway you've ever seen in womens cycling? We've got one world champ, a ronde winner, a LBL winner, a Paris-roubaix winner, & several top tens in the Tour de france femme avec zwift.

And Cant, Chabbey and Moolman-Pasio are also current/former world champions in other disciplines.
