Pogi's UAE teammates will riding under different flags, but some of them would be very prominent in the lead pack, add the Monaco-based regular training mates who would also be there for unholy alliances. I'm sure there would only be a handful of medal contenders after the last climb, and if Pogi and Rog could both make the final selection, then may the better sprinter wins. If he could stick with the big guns on all climbs, I predict an upset win by local boy Hirschi.Without Mohoric the race will be Pogi vs Slovenia feat. Remco.

I'm aware (started being a cyling fan in ~1990), but the 'old' three was Giro, Tdf, Vuelta consecuatively, but not in the same year for the reason you pointed out.Remember that prior to whenever the Vuelta switched to late summer, the Vuelta and virtually overlapped, so there was no way to win all 3 in the same year. But I don’t know if the notion of a “triple crown” existed back then.
Ah, I see. Thanks for that info.I'm aware (started being a cyling fan in ~1990), but the 'old' three was Giro, Tdf, Vuelta consecuatively, but not in the same year for the reason you pointed out.
Sounds good, though I thought the main challenge for him will be going up?VDP is 2kg lighter than in the spring and says he won't go down without a fight

Of course not. Pogacar is a monster in undulating terrain, probably the best engine in this type of terrain, only Vingegaard is close to himAfter seeing this U23 today, the question is can an organized chase catch Pogi? Christian aint no pogi. And MVP aint no Behrens.
If it's good for Van Aert, it's better for Van der Poel. So yeah... probably still wouldn't have won.The favorites went really hard, and it was still won by a rouleur.
It looks a lot better for Van Aert than I initially thought.
Wait.
Only if it's a one man organisation with the strength of Vingegaard on the way to Le LioranAfter seeing this U23 today, the question is can an organized chase catch Pogi? Christian aint no pogi. And MVP aint no Behrens.
Surely they’re better behaved in Switzerland, as they are all like Heidi?14 year old girls in hotel rooms are shitting themselves right now

Not surprising. What about the original 1960’s Heidi? Although a lot folks probably say they saw it, I really was watching the 4th quarter of the NY Jets game with my Dad when NBC abruptly cut off the broadcast to air that “Heidi” at it’s scheduled time.Fun fact: the actress who played Heidi in the 1978 TV series is Austrian
While that’s probably true it’s a lot harder for any cycling fan or commentator to to try to predict outcomes on things like recovery ability in a 6-7 hr hilly race with a lot of cumulative elevation. That’s because we don’t have any metrics for that, there is no baseline for the elite pros performance on this course, especially given this isn’t a course they repeat some variation of each year. It’s not like we have ( except perhaps for Mou😊) their trainings numbers for hill repeats.as always, people stop to analyze at tge length of the climbs. The fact that they are not done only once or twice seems irrelevant, not to mention the D+ meters which always seems to be a random and meaningless number. okay...
