True. That would be good fun. Swap Millar for Cummings and I think on paper at least GB is the strongest.

Australia, Germany and America would also be good/ probably challenge.

There would be many good teams though

Just naming six good riders for TTT from the top of my head for a few major countries:

Froome, Wiggins, Dowsett, Stannard, Thomas, Cummings
Durbridge, Evans, Meyer, Dennis, Rogers, Porte
Contador, LL Sanchez, Castroviejo, Ion Izagirre, Valverde, Plaza
Malori, Pinotti, Boaro, Cataldo, Nibali, Benatti
Chavanel, Peraud, Gallopin, Roy, Coppel, Le Bon
Gilbert, Boonen, Vandewalle, Devolder, Monfort, De Gendt
Westra, Terpstra, Boom, Dumoulin, Kelderman, Gesink
Phinney, Van Garderen, Talansky, Zabriskie, Bookwalter, Danielson
Martin, Kloden, Schumacher, Gretsch, Degenkolb, Grabsch

Would be a very exciting race imo! I'd think it much more exciting than the current race.
what bikes would each team ride?

lol . BMC will not have GVA or Gilbert so at best Evans/TJVG/Phinney/Schar/Bookwalter/Pinotti don't know if any of these are unavailable or not (Evans will probably stay home until the Friday so Oss or Quinziato in).

.

I think this four are safe bets for the BMC selection: TJVG, Phinney, Pinotti and Hushovd. I dont think Evans will put priority to this , but if he does he is in the team. Quinziati, Schar an Bookwalter fighiting for the last two spots i think.

There are lines between all of the riders when I view the pdf. Some appear a bit blurry, I guess due to the pdf compression.

There are lines between all of them on mine too but there is one thicker (non-blurry) line in some of the teams. Doesn't look like a compression error but could be an error of some kind.

I hope Garmin goes for: Dennis, Millar, Rasmussen, Talansky, Vande Velde and Zabriskie. That would possibly be their strongest team on paper, unlike the uninspiring one from last year. I don't understand why did they chose not to register Bauer. He seems to be in good shape recently and is certainly more of a time-trial speciallist than Dekker, Farrar or Van Summeren.

Garmin are a bit "win or disappointment" in TTT in recent years. I think their success in TTT was usually due to having the most balanced team, not the best time-trial rider in the team, so having 6-men rosters doesn't really favour them. I guess it's easier to beat Dennis, Millar, Rasmussen, Talansky, Vande Velde and Zabriskie by 6 men, than, let's say, Bauer, Danielson, Dennis, Farrar, Millar, Rasmussen, Talansky, Vande Velde, Zabriskie by 9 man.

Yeah that would be my team, Bauer would have been useful but he'll still be doing the Tour of Britain.

OGE five should be Tuft, Durbridge, Mouris, Meyer, Matthews. Raffle one of the pursuiters for last man.

Trade teams or not, I like the TTT at the WC... it didn't work at Eindoven for those few years, and it would be more 'exciting' with national teams, but I understand why it's logistically more possible (and desirable) for teams, re: practice and prestige, etc.

Embarrassingly, I don't remember the rules - 6 riders to start, first 4 over the finish?

Probably Lancaster. He's still quite good at prologues and has been racing recently.

Hepburn or Bewley- though i think Sam has done preparation for this.

Langeveld is another option too.

Forgot about Lancaster...

Lancaster would be my pick but they've got some great options and should do well. It'll be a great contest, with OGE, Sky and OPQS all bringing great teams. Shame Sky don't have Wiggins though as then it really would be the A-teams of Sky, OGE and OPQS going against each other and would be very difficult to pick a winner.

Euskaltel with Tamu to smash it

More seriously I would love to see a nation based TTT as well.

In road races you'd be right but in time trials??

Sprinters are best riders for team time trials.

Freire is by many of his ex-teammates called the best TTT-er they've ever raced with.
Hushovd, incredible TTT'er aswell.
