Conservatism sets the standard for corruptness.. A GOP vote is a guarantee to have the wrong thing done. So maybe it is a crap shoot expecting a Dem to clean up the mess done by Republicans but it is not an endorsement of all things Phil Gramm, **** Cheney would have visited on our country. A GOP vote is a "please screw everyone over but me" vote..

I'm sorry Anglo-Persian Oil Company says Joe Barton..Sorry we wanted gasoline for our cars forcing you to be reckless for our benefit..

I'm sorry Ford.. We just wanted those exploding Pintos to keep us away from the Toyota dealership.

I'm sorry Lockheed..
I'm sorry Goldman/Sachs
I'm sorry Exxon
I'm sorry fill in the blank...

How dare we even question these people who Republicans worship.

Sorry, I just have to laugh how the board won't let you type Mr Cheney's first name!

Let's try it. ****.

See??

Sorry, my humour never made it past the age of 12.... ;)

And they didn't want to stop, however great their madness, however grevious our sufferings; they carried on against all reason and despite all warnings. Yet they all commited themselves to false conclusions, as I have told Scott So Cal--ultimately to nothing but their base economic and political interests, which ultimately dooms everything to failure including themselves. They say they believe in progress, but their ideology halts all progress and finally brings everything to an end. This is the inherent paradox of the conservative world-view.

I've just been reading the latest Economist magaine we get in Australia, and the article on what is wrong with America's right. They mentioned a bloke by the name of Ron Paul, a guy who wants to pull America out of NATO and the UN and abolish the Federal Reserve, and they also mentioned that he is a tea partier (also somebody like Sarah Palin), does this mean that the most conservative of the Republicans?

Or is this guy a nut case?

Oh, the hysterics.

I guess we all better lock ourselves in our homes and never come out, lest some capitalist will take total advantage...

Just for the record, for every Ford Pinto example you can point to I can point to thousands of examples of evil corporate types like General Electric that partnered with a couple of scientists to develop a machine called magnetic resonance imaging. Ever heard of it? Some filthy capitalist brought it to market.

I know, I know. Conservative = Bad. Liberal = Good.

Strange times indeed.

That's horrible. Those darned MD planes just fall out of the sky. It's truly amazing commercial airlines keep buying them.

Of course, MD could solve all their problems just like Ken Salazar did at MMS. He changed the name. Brilliant. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

Just checking in.

I am starting to get a little tired of the Democratic Party. I have rarely seen a finer bunch of mealy mouthed do-nothings in my life. They talk a good game, but when it comes to actually standing up for what you say you believe and defending it against attacks, they just slink away to the safest position available and pretend they didn't hear themselves talking prior to that. Then again, find a Republican politician willing to stand up and say they think Bush did a great job.

Bunch of money grubbing wh0res. I think we are fuked as a nation, and am not sure I believe that is such a bad thing.

Ok. You've demonstrated you will make a fine politician. So, I'll ask again. Whom is more criminal... The person offering or the person accepting the bribe?

Good grief. They're both criminal activities. I don't know the sanctions for either one though.

Who's more criminal. Al Capone or the Police he bought?

Do you eliminate the Police because some are corrupt?

I would like to but in and try to stop anyone for falling for this Ron Paul bull **** and digress a bit from there.
The guy is a nut case. His son is named Rand Paul (i think after ayn rand since thats the sort of politics ron paul represents). His son recently got himself into trouble for a comment about the civil rights, a problem Ron Paul has become used to facing over the years ( they believe businesses have the rights to turn down customers, and hence that in 1964 business should still have had the right to turn down african americans).

Though i do not live in or visit America, i have not failed to notice that Ron Paul has some fans on the left. In America, as everywhere else, the far right and the far left are difficult to distinguish. I was not shocked to find that michael moore and sean hannity are friends. Jfk once joked to a room full of nobel laureats that there never was so much intelligence in one room since thomas jefferson dined alone. Well in the case of this latest moore hannity love in, there has never been so much stupidity and demagoguery in one room, ever. Also david duke (kkk grand wizzard) and cindy sheehan (grieving mother of soldier turned leftist whackjob) joined together to say that a secret jewish conspiracy had been responsible for the US going into Iraq. Since this idea seems remarkably similar to the protocols of the elders of zion, i am guessing that Sheehan got this text from Hamas, while Duke got it from the Fallwell religious right.
the point is, you really know if someone is on the extreme, when they start crossing over into the other end of the scale. Ron Paul ticks this box with his far left friends and supporters.

I'm just trying to follow your logic.

To me it seems you are perfectly willing to villify corporate corruption (which I agree with) and perfectly unwilling to villify those that corporations corrupt (which I don't agree with).

Maybe I got it wrong...

The MMS was corrupted by the conservatives of the world who are all for "drill baby drill."

Obama's failure was that he's been derelict in his duty to clean up Republican crimes and put the criminals in jail.

He's also either corrupt himself or extremely naive if he thinks he can treat Republicans as anything other than criminals

"MMS was corrupted by conservatives"... who's to blame? Those that made or those that took bribes? In my world it's both.

"Republican crimes and put them in jail" ???

"treat Republicans as anything other than criminals."

These are your words. I'm just trying to follow along. It seems to me that the govt officials in your scenario are less culpable by accepting bribes than the corporate types by making them.

Am I wrong?

It is like street thugs vs inept police and see nothing witnesses.. Republicans are the street thugs..You can *itch all you want about the police and the witness but at the end of the day you are still with the thugs.

I'm thinking BP pensioners believe the Obama admin's behavior to be thuggish. I'm guessing the bond holders of GM (before the bankruptcy) think the Obama admin to be thugs. I'm guessing most of the dems holding out during the healthcare votes feel the Obama admin to have exhibited thuggish behavior. The SEIU are certainly are guilty of thuggish behavior recently. Chrysler being forced to partner with Fiat was... thuggish?

"January 20 will mark a year since Barack Obama took the oath of office. As this is written, the entire nation awaits the outcome of the special election in Massachusetts and many want to see an end to the Democrat control of the Senate. There are any number of ironies, not the least of which that it was Massachusetts that gave us JFK and his bloated little brother, Teddy.

It is hard to recall a more brutally partisan administration and Congress. Bribery and thuggish uncivil behavior has become the hallmark of the Democrat controlled political process; weakness and appeasement the nation’s foreign policy.
“Yes, we can” has transitioned into a public panic regarding the massive expenditures, the billions spent to take over the auto industry, banks, insurance companies, and an insulting “stimulus” bill devoted more to “green jobs” than real jobs. The final injury as the first year comes to a close would be the passage in the Senate of a widely hated Medicare “reform” that reeked of unconstitutional elements and which will surely be challenged in the courts.

It is astounding that a single Senate vote could end the reign of terror that characterizes Obama’s first year."

I'm quite sure you will belittle the source for this quote and I only post it because some believe what you write above to be opposite of what is true.

A pretty smart economist/author named Thomas Sowell thinks thuggish behavior is being exhibited by this govt.

"If you believe that the end justifies the means, then you don't believe in constitutional government."

But, Liberal = Good. Conservative = Bad. Life, business, politics and govt are simple like that.

Good Lord Scotty.. GM bond holders forced GM into bankruptcy..The CFDs they held on the bonds would make them more money than the bonds..Once again thank one of your apostles Wendy Gramm.

How about answering a question I posed.

Just because some police are corrupt, do you eliminate the police?

You also still don't understand the premise that "We the People" are the government, but please try a little harder.

Probably because I am too weak to confront your, Scott SoCal's, mental world head on, knowing that I have never been a match for Scott SoCal's ideas and what he did with them, but had, in fact, sometimes succumbed entirely to these ideas and actions of Scott SoCal's, whatever Scott SoCal thought I also thought, whatever he practiced, I believed I also had practiced, at times I had been wholly preoccupied with his ideas and all his thinking and had given up my own thinking even though it had been, after all, like every line of thought, an independent, autonomous, self-propelled line of thought, I had become quite incapable of thinking my own thoughts for long periods now, especially in America where I will probably go for the New Year celebrations only because Scott SoCal is there, all I will be able to think are Scott SoCal's thoughts, as here Scott SoCal himself has noticed and found inexplicable, and consequently also unbearable, he said, to have to see me so subjected to his thinking, if not entirely at the mercy of his thinking, that I tended to follow his every thought wherever it might lead, that I was always to be found in my thinking wherever he was in his thinking, and he warned me to take care, not to give in to his tendency, because a man who no longer thinks his own thoughts but instead finds himself dominated by the thoughts of another man whom he admires or even if he doesn't admire him but is only dominated by his thoughts, compulsively, such a man is in constant danger of doing himself in by his continual thinking of another man's thoughts and positions, in danger of deadening himself out of existence.
