He was 8th last year, but 2'53" behind Valverde. I think Wellens will be the leader in their team, he was second last year.

Looked like a good race. Some solid racing where some 'big' names got dropped while some riders you wouldn't expect there survived.
Ofcourse it's early season which makes it always hard to judge.

What I notice was Valverde being completely unrecognizable as Spanish champion from the back. Most ridiculous national champion kit ... EVER!

He looked like struggling to me. Then again he closed a gap to the front group alone, but not in a way Valverde normally would. Last year he won here.

Nice win by Cancellara.

Let's hope he stays safe this spring and is able to race for the win in Flanders and Roubaix. Would be great to see him duke it out with the new generation. Shame big John is out though.
