Sagan was the strongest but Kwai was the smartest.

Yes he did a few turns to help keep them clear but Sagan was isolated in front and Kwia is a good sprinter on his day.

Lol Kwiat get congratulated for doing what Gerrans does. Got to love this forum

When Gerrans goes solo like Kwiat did in Strade Bianche, I think the criticism would stop. Kwiat helped a little bit. Gerrans sat on Cancellara the whole way.

Gerro also did one pull

I refuse to believe that has ever happened. The universe would implode

Lol @ people calling Kwiatkowski a wheel sucker. The best sprinter in an attack has to do the most work, that's cycling tactics 101. Kwiatkowski did his fair share.
But Kwai is pretty dangerous in a sprint. He beat Sagan in a sprint in E3 Harelbeke.

A little deja vu back to 2012, but I think Kwiatkowski contributed a lot more than Gerrans did. I might have to watch the finale again though. In any case, both Kwiatkowski and Alaphilippe had sprinters behind, I assume, with Gaviria and Viviani. Let's just be happy that we had a thrilling finale.

The clear difference being that Kwiatkowski always contributes when he's at the front and has won some of the biggest races in cycling with spectacular solo attacks. Including winning one of the best races you'll ever see a couple of weeks ago.

Nope, Gerro also did one pull, the exact same Kwiatko the wheelsucker/motorbike sucker did.

Good job you're not bitter. Fantastic finale. Definitely not a dull edition this year thanks to 3 riders who habitually "have a go".

Good finish.
The showman made the show again, but the fame went the other way.
Congrats to the trio.

Who could've predicted MSR would be a Monument for Kwia... Excellent rider.

Hopefully sagan gives up on cycling so all you can enjoy a whole lot of bunch sprints and negativity.

Pretty good final. Kwiat is such a clever rider: he really is getting much more out of his career then you would expect when analyzing his capacities.

Incredible Sagan today. An absolute beast. Without Kwiat and a poor Van Avermaet, who's going to beat him at Flanders?

Exactly. For the same reason you can't compare todays situation with Gerrans and Cancellara since Gerrans would always be expected to beat Cancellara in a sprint.

That was such a good finish, 3 of the best riders in the world sprinting down to the line. I like 3 three riders, extremely talented, attacking but not least versatile riders - I originally rooted for Gaviria, but gotta love the fact that the attackers was awarded.

Sagan could win so much more if he just was a bit more cold blooded. Stil just one monument.. but hard to see past him for Flanders. Gonna say it again, would be stupid if Kwito didn't participate - Rowe and Stannard doesnt stand a chance in the flemish races.

One race doesn't make a rider a wheel sucker. Kwiat has shown through the past few seasons that he is not Gerrans. I find it silly that some are implying they are now the same because of 3k of today's race.

Good race by Kwiat, Sagan didn't keep his cool in the last k and he took advantage. I think Sagan, Kwiatkowski and Alaphilippe rode the race from bottom of the Poggio to finish slightly faster than Fondriest and Jalabert. Slower on the climb, but faster on the descent and less playing poker on the flat.

Kwiatko did at least 3 pulls btw. He's judged less harshly than Gerrans also because of how he races in other events (e.g Strade this year.)

Still, good race.

what a finish!!!!! Peter yet again toooo generous with the effort-should have sat a bit - but hey!!! not risk no glory !! - Kwato smelled blood when Peter took off and knew that was the winning move - same for Alaphilippe- great instincts. Overall a well deserved worthy all round Podium in every single aspect.

congrats to Kwiatkowski!!!!
