Just hope they will be able to climb it. Doesnt mind bad weather as long as its not so bad that they cant ride it.

Damn it! It looks like another bad stage design. They have to get some adults to design these things. Elementary school projects are ok- but for The Tour? Is this year's setup even worse than last year? I'm beginning to think so.

Which is why I asked why nobody was concerned when it was used for the 2009 Giro.
Maybe, it's just a climate that recent accidents have created.

Point is, this is professional road racing, not professional wide, flat and uphill only racing.

After all, these guys are supposed to be the elite of our sport.

Perhaps the riders have somehow realises (after the death of Wouter) that they have more to lose than a few months of training if they crash on a descent. Everyone has surely known that they could get hurt really badly but not realised that "hey it might be me". The bad descenders probably more so than the good ones.

I think it's ok that riders express their opinions about stage routes. The one descent cut out from this year's Giro showed that RCS went a little bit too far. This doesn't however mean that everything that a single rider wants should be done.

Yesterday worket out pretty well and that stage was similar to this one.

riders have been dieing all the time. I didn't hear complaints after kivilev, sanroma or casartelli

I don't think the break will need that many minutes, considering how long the descent is. Surely the peloton can't make up much time there.
