Yes but when it's the first mountain stage and you have galibier stelvio giau tre cime etc coming up, people hold back a little. Probably would have been different if riders had known that was their only chance.

some news from italy..some today newspaper says thats saturday they will not clim passo giau.and the finish line will be in Auronzo..

Pretty clear Cadel has been a massive beneficiary of the neutering of this race then. Still likely to cling on to podium if the next 2 days are made easy enough, despite stinking the place out in one of the few climbing efforts.

Not quite Passo Stelvio but looks pretty nice to me. WIll finish be 2 kilometres high tho :) ?

I have no idea where the finish will be. It'll depend from the weather.

I hope Scarponi & Uran ride hard, they can get 2 and 3 on the podium. Uran in particular deserves second with his time loss towing Wiggins back.
