I am obviously biased but I think Evans is going to get stronger as the race progresses. I don't see that to be the case for Nibali imo.

Evans agrees with you.

At the same time I think I am coming a bit better in the mountains. I am still on the improve. I am not going to say I am worse than him at the moment

I actually think Nibali missed an opportunity on stage 10 to put more time into Evans before he hits top gear. Too bad about the weather I hope that doesn't play any role.

The question is whether Evans poor last season and early 2013 was a result of him getting older/worse naturally or if it was really just a health issue and he is comin back now. In prime shape he is a step ahead of Nibali.

Probably nothing happens 'till final climb, and even there not many would risk too much considering tomorrow is very very hard stage.

Or the weather could cancel everything, which is very possible atm.

It's only 60 km ;)

I'm half expecting them to cancel the second half of the stage and finish at Pinerolo - Cav FTW

Heavy rain then Sestriere plus descent in snow and freezing wind ? I'm sceptical. A lot of riders will pack if they do. As we know Nibali couldn't continue in similar conditions in MSR so he and some of the skinnier climbers could struggle (in other words the weather will be a bit of a leveller). Even if they do go all the way to the intended finish I doubt we'll see much of it

The last 500 meters are 11.6%, so thats like having Koppenberg at the end of a really tough mountain stage (except the surface) :D

I can see a few riders losing lots of time on that section alone. Let's hope they don't cancel the final climb.

so will the whole stage play out, surely they first climb can be crested and the descent isnt tricky so as along as its not super cold and wet it should be safe, the days final climb however has much narrower roads.

I cant see Evans cracking Nibali much, id fear Uran more as hes shown he can put in a dig.

It would be quite amusing if the three Colombians teamed up to mug Nibali. Betancur and Henao to attack together low down on the climb, Uran bridges, and they ride off into the sunset together. :D

Sestriere could be out.

the Inner Ring ‏@inrng 1m

Sestriere climb could be cut from today's Giro stage says @pierbergonzi. Race may take Val di Susa straight to Bardonnechia then final climb
