As the sole leader with good support (something he lacked in 2011TDF). I think we will see how good Uran can be.

The weather will decide, ****ty weather and Nibbi and Evans will fight it out, decent weather and AGR will take this, Betancur FTW.

I expect to see Uran follow Evans and Nibs.

In the 2011 TdF Uran rode strongly in the Pyrennees but bombed on the Galibier. But he is young, he should be stronger now. Good opportunity for him to shine.

That makes the climb seem somewhat more strenuous than it is as much of it is just false flat, new final climb profile:

Hopefully a break takes the points on the line - this tour is certainly getting easier to finish for the fat boys.

Shortened one-climb stages: it's like Javier Guillén has taken over the Giro at the last minute.

Javier Guillen does have a nice collection of ties though....

Good stage for Henao to try an Uran, if he's feeling better now.
How? Nibali won't start the final climb with only 1 teammate like stage 10. The final climb is short already...

The removal of Sestriere greatly increases the chances of this being won by the break. I'll stick with my man Pieter Weening.

Sky train can do a lot of damage in 2 km.

uhm, no, I think the opposite is the truth. With the mainly flat parcours a break can be kept in control easily

Hmmm, ok. I just don't think there are likely to be many teams interested in controlling the break, but a climb to Sestriere would've been very tough for breakaway riders to survive (unless a strong climber out of GC contention made it into the group).

As it is now, I could see the break having 6-7 minutes at the bottom of the climb.

Today's DNSs

Kroon
Bennati
Steegmans
Bobridge

Cav losing a valuable resource for the last stage, but lets face it, the sprinter field is increasingly looking thin.

And Majka is soon a one man band.
