Purito is the cover story in the latest Pro Cycling mag and states that he's been truly inspired by his performance in the 2012 Vuelta vs Contador. He believes he's bridged the gap that existed between them in the mountains.
I remember not long ago when the board experts where screaming Purito will never ever be a potential tour winner  I hope he proves alot of people wrong this year.

Froome and JRod comfortable, Nibbles and Alberto struggling?

Looking at each other, meanwhile Evans comes charging through?

looks like BMC brought a great and balanced team to this year TOO. yesterday 2 guys in a top 10, today, another 3 in a top 10. they only miss a win:confused:

well, only two options: Froome or J-Rod. Could be any of them really.

Yeah, very likely. Though gaps are quite distinct considering they were still together from 1 km to go.

Was just thinking where he was when that photo was taken. Will be interesting to see the highlights, surprisingly big gaps in the end

I'm not focussed on riders from kenya, still I predicted more than anyone I know. there's a reason I make a living watching cycling

lol you think he just came up from Kenyan amatuer scene? He is 27 years old and been riding gts for the last 5 years. Right in front of your eyes in all the european races, and you didnt see any talent in him yourself. And after all you are the ultimate cycling talent scouter.

of course I saw talent in him. but he's not on my radar as much as others were. but I remember he rode very well in the tour of 2008, but I didn't know he was affected by a virus for all those years that hampered him. and coming from kenya it makes sense to be strong coming from altitude and heat.

I can't foresee everything or else I would be some god

We are not talking about a talent. We are talking about a guy who is on the verge of becoming the best time trialist and climber of an era.

hasnt looked up to much so far, not sure if he wants to show any of his cards before the classics, better signs will be from the one day races in the build up.

Already back to the hotel from stage 4.Today uphill finish, sensations were not the best, but I'm improving. Thanks @TeamSaxoTinkoff

Always going on about his "sensations" :D

Thanks for info.

"Sensations". Ha, ha! That's the problem with cycling, compared to running, say. On the first hill, one always knows if one has good cycling legs or not.

Not really gonna change that day. Ouch.

The guy went from average climber and average time trialist at best, to superb climber and superb time trialist in... well, in one Vuelta, basically. I don't think anyone saw that coming, not even at Sky.

It's the biggest improvement of any rider since Bradley Wiggins ;)

If Cancellara makes the finale tomorrow he will likely be crushed by Sagan.

I hope the GC boys will come out to play instead.

LOL at that. he's not shoon anywhere to be the best climber, let alone best timetrialist. he's also won 0 gt's and he's 28
