Tinkoff is seriously stupid.
Why not get Rogers, Majka (can get next 3 days for rest so he could give it all and rip this field apart, plus wouldnt have to work much with this size of a break) in the break. They would have won this stage easily + KOM.
It is not like they will be setting a pace against Sky or Movistar.....
And it is Sky that's criticized for their tactics....

Well if the other teams are going to let Froome ride 7th wheel up the last climb of the day, who can blame Sky xD

Majka has spent himself yesterday. Rogers maybe.

Majka can go in the breaks with great results for 2 days in a row (see last year). Plus he is a superior climber compared to anyone in the break by some margin (looking at current shapes). Would have won this without major tactical screwup and then rest for next 4-5 days and attack on stage 18 to get polka-dot.
Whats the point of having him ride in peleton? He is not going to be asked to pull anyway

To be honest, in the morning I wouldn't have anticipated myself that Majka eventually choose the wrong stage to get a mountain stage victory and grab some points for the polka dot.

He will go whenever given freedom. He is that kind of a rider.
I think Tinkoff is giving last chance to Contador today, but having strong rider in the break that can help in later parts or go for a win if Contador doesnt feel good would be much better then in the peleton doing nothing

Like I said, I don't expect them to make gaps or anything, but they have to put pressure on, so SKY aren't so comfortable. I'm not hoping Froome will crash or anything, but if he take a turn the wrong way, he would shake in his boots all the way down. It could be a mental factor later en race too!

They can't put pressure on the climbs, because SKY are stronger, so they have to do it on the descent.

There a huge flat before the climb how are you supposed to put them under pressure and not expect them to ttt back on on the flat? Complete waste of energy by any team.

Could have tried to at least lift the pace on the downhill to change it up from the Skytrain controlling it at whatever pace Froome is comfortable with. Make him a bit uncomfortable. Even if they let them go a bit at least it makes Sky think about it, shakes them up at least a bit.

Who knows, maybe the other teams can't even go any faster than they were, but anything would be better than watching Sky ride on the front for the next 1.5 weeks.

Everything TS doesnt do is a indicator of Albertos form. Still not good.

I expect him to give it a go at La Toussuire again,if not earlier already.

OK the brass band with the Trombones is pulling off, so the parade to the PdB is over.

Thankfully no serious contender took any risks up to now, so they can just be executed on the final climb.
