Alaphillipe robbed by the bonus seconds system. They're there to motivate sprinters in early stages, not decide the GC. If they were evenly applied on all stages then Alaphillipe would have won.
Your tears taste delicious.

Anyway another win for Cav, pleased with his form so far after work on his Aero position, with Kittel struggling I hope he wins a few Tour stages.

There were no bonuses on the Baldy stage? That makes no sense. Ala should have won in that case.

If they were evenly applied on ALL stages, then Sagan would still have won. ;)

Unreal.

After so many 2nd finishes recently, this must taste so much sweeter for Sagan. This may "only" be the ToC, but I hope this is the springboard for his next successes. I've never seen him fight as he did yesterday and until the very end today.

What race ever gave time bonuses to ITT winners?

I get the pedantry, but typically it's either no bonuses or bonuses on all road stages. Bonuses on some but not all makes a race even more artificial.

Nevertheless, after all of that, the race got the winner it deserved.

Was it just the TT and MTF there weren't bonus seconds?

marketing wise is huge for Specialized and Oakley. one of their main men wins in Cali
(well Alaphilippe has the same sponsors as Sagan, but Sagz is more famous)

Yes thought so, then Sagan would still have won but by 1 second.

We wouldn't talk about bonus seconds if the TT wasn't altered...
This. Sagan would make more time into Alaphilippe on longer distance ;)

hadn't realized it, but its actually true, sagan is not that bad tter if he cares. E.g. ITT TdF 2 years ago, and none of the gc guys that were here are probably not better than him.
On the other hand, it wouldn't just be longer, but the profile would be else too.
