Purito will be commentator on today's stage for Spanish Eurosport! :)
"Quintana should stay on Froome's wheel at all times. Never attack him, unless Froome falls or the organizers try to cancel the stage/any attacks. He should try and stay on his wheel even during flat stages. Making races, be a deserved winner and add to the spectacle is overrated. Look at my career! I never won LBL or Amstel, and I also never won any GT. But guess what, oh boy did I forced Valverde to attack! I was even used to follow him on public roads, when he was on vacation! It used to make him insane."

Anyway, Sky is good to go. They don't need to win this stage and there's no way Moreno will keep them at bay during the last climb. Froome can still focus on beating Quintana.

I don't understand Orica's tactics. Why are they working so hard? None of their riders in the break could win the stage, and if they want to set something up for Chaves it would be better if they aren't too tired and the gap isn't too big.

I was thinking the same thing, what are they doing?

Remember stage 12 when Kirby said it was a Movistar win, and everyone laughed? Maybe he knew something we don't. :D

The smartest thing you could do is to never ever type a post about cycling. You should really watch another sport, cause you don't understand this one!

Orica's strategy today is a real mystery.
Perhaps they just want to make Sky work hard and isolate Froome for the final climb. Seems pretty ambitious to think Chaves could distance him, but not much else makes sense.

Whereas in practice they're just giving Moreno a great free ride to jump Chaves.

Triumph of hope over experience for anyone on that team to work hard for Chaves.

I'm surprised Orica are working in the break here.

They still do.
The faster the break goes, the faster the bunch goes...

Still convinced by this?
Yeah, now that they have realized that the gap has actually increased, I think the bunch will speed up. If the break had gone (even) slower, then the bunch could take it (even) easier.
