It almost seems like Orica has some sort of plan. They have been working a lot in the break all day, and none of their riders in the break are riders you would expect to be able to win the stage even if the break holds. But on the other hand it's difficult to see what kind of plan this could be part of.

It's a plan that requires all their riders in the break to be knackered and Movistar to get a free ride in both the break and the peloton. Hmmmmm.

or we can have the biggest pointless break of GT history

The times we received before were way off. The break has 6'07" to the bunch instead. Interesting news because this means that Sky has to up the pace significantly and it doesn't seem obvious that they are capable of doing so.

there's no way the gap is 6 min. the peloton finished the climb pretty soon after the break

Rolf Sørensen on Danish TV2 stop clocked the gap at 6'07 at the top, so yes, the gap is 6 minutes.

what does gilberts abandon mean for bmc's team classification?

nothing. why would it mean anything?

I'm going to guess broppo is here for betting tips.
exactly, i bet on movistar to win the team classification but i don't understand the rules very well lol

it's not the time of the best riders in the GC. it's the time of the first 3 riders to end a stage.
