He was very good in Canada in 200km races. Or course this is a different beast but maybe on a sunny day he would've had a chance
Yes, but he still has a history of underperforming in +250km races and has a rep for not being a great descender and not having great bike handling skills.
In the end it won't matter, it's not like many other guys were in great shape and missed out because of him.
Cassani only made one big mistake and that was selecting the wrong guys for the 2014 WC.
Ulissi had some clinic related problems and he still didn't bring Gaspa or Rebellin...

The BBC just started talking about Bennett being quiet and having a good chance just as he gets dropped. Feel bad for him but it was an amazing moment of commentators curse

Absolutely brutal race. Whoever wins deserves our respect, even if it might not be the fan favourite.

It's pretty standard fare at the Worlds for the Irish of recent years. The last decent showing I can remember is Mark Scanlon. As a Junior.
The team passed me on the way to the start line this morning and they really didnt look comfortable or up for it.it was 8am and freezing so it wasn't just them looked moody though
