They need allies. I think even Copeland mentioned that. Trade a stage win for help.

Still think DQS will help anyway. Almeida has a chance to go a long way up here in the right conditions and they're not going to turn their noses up at that just because BE didn't let them send a rider up the road.

(and they can even potentially gift Almeida a stage win in the end if he's still there)

Last year in Tour he was saying the same until his back gave up.
I hardly can remember any interview with a cyclist where it was said that numbers are not good. Contador did his best numbers every year after the ban, Nibali did his best numbers every year after the 2014 TdF and it was apparent that they did not. Oh, yeah - Valverde also did his best numbers last year.
