Isn't that a matter of where you have your license?

Surely Benedetti switched to Polish license right at the time - if not before - he switched nationality. Besides, you can hold license in a country you're not a citizen of. Dunno if it's still the case, but at least some years DCU didn't give licenses to riders living outside Denmark. Chris Anker, for example rode under a Luxembourg license (dunno if he switched to Italian when he moved there), he was always Danish, even becoming Danish Champion.
Edit: Apparently it was the UCI that didn't allow DCU to give licenses to Danish riders living abroad, and surely that was/is not a specifically Danish thing.

As for Carr, well...

Other than Lawson Craddock, or is it Craddock Lawson (I can never keep it straight) in the ITT I have no idea who is competing in the USA nationals. Their "registrants" page is still blank.

Cycling News are reporting Chad Haga, Joey Rosskoph and Ian Garrison as the main challengers. They didn't mention Magnus Sheffield in the preview but reckon he is riding the road race.

The Estonian ITT Champion for this year is Rein Taaramae, beating Tanel Kangert by a slim margin.

OH NOOO!!!

They BOTH did the 35kms in 41:41mins - exactly same time!

I have not been able to manage to separate these two guys for almost twenty years, now. And this goes on and on…

Conclusion, after all these years:

Rein Taaramae = Tanel Kangert.

They are equally strong, always have been, always will be. No doubt about that.

:)

Rein Taaramäe's wife and devoted dog handler, Hanna, won the silver medal in the women's ITT.
She did actually win the race, but Kristel Sandra Soonik, who is a U23 rider, rode the fastest time.

Blanka Vas unsurprinsingly defended her Hungarian title.
Raivis Belohvoščiks' daugther, Laura, won the junior ITT in Latvia.
Nienke Vinke, a friend of the coolest names thread, won the Dutch junior race in front of Mirre Knaven, who's is still competing under Dutch flag unlike her sisters.

I believe each national federation has its own rules.
For example, Australia required (at least in 2021) that you must be an Australian national and have neither ridden for another national team nor ridden in another nation's championships within the last 2 years. See page 10 here...

Federations in the past have allowed non-nationals/guest riders to ride, too.

Van Wilder is out for the TT. His crash in Suisse is causing pain when he puts force on the pedals. This was one of his big goals of the season, even though he wasn't a 100% yet after his crash in Liège. This guy is born for bad luck.
In Suisse he was on his way to a 9th place going by his time at the mark 2k from the finish. He would have been faster than Fuglsang and Van Baarle.

There was a short, punchy hill in the ITT (800m at 7%), so for Ganna to gain over 1sec per km over Cattaeno he must be in great shape.
Fun fact, Ganna recently went on a really long training ride with Honore of all people, don't ask me why.

there is no doubt that Ganna is in great shape and is the best TTer at the moment.

however, was he on the new Bolide?

i have a sense that Ineos' new TT ride is super, super fast. i expect them all to over-perform in Denmark.

Just in case anyone wonders why, Honore and Ganna live ~1KM from each other in Lugano. Honore was at the same hotel that Ganna was at on top of Monte Moro, a mountain near Verbania where Ganna comes from at 2800m altitude. Possibly he heard about it from Ganna considering he's been going there for a few years (presumably preferable to do an altitude camp where you can train on home roads).

Honoré has joined the Italian mafia.
