Even though Mas looked horrible in Dauphine if he can show up at the Tour slightly better than he was at the end of last season I think he should be in contention for that third spot. Not much tt also favors him I believe.

Carlos Rodriguez? Where did he show the past season that he’s able to land a podium spot in the Tour?
He's as good a bet as any other Ineos rider, and after his injury earlier in the season he looks on track for a major Tour peak.

Who is your "Other/Vino" pick?

I voted Hindley but honestly I'm not confident in that pick at all. He had that one magnificent climbing performance on the Fedaia but that was argubly his only "Tour podium level" performance in the last 3 years. Just really unconvincing. But then I don't see anyone who's convincing me more either.

I have no clue. I picked it because I believe it might be someone random. Is Bardet riding? Who knows maybe him.

Voted tibopino, expecting excellent support from Gaudu :)

This really does seem wide open, there's no reliable grinder like Thomas, even the former GT winners like Yates and Hindley are not riders I'd bet the house on and the likes of Carapaz and Mas have looked in poor form recently. Maybe Landa will finally have some good fortune in a big race.

Is it just me or has it been quite a while since there has been such a strong field contesting the tdf on all terrains?
All top-puncheurs are there (seriously, all of them). Sprinters? All of them. (Ok, Madiot f*ed us on that one, but besides Arnaud, they're all there.)
GC? Well only Roglic and Remco aren't participating. Otherwise? The 2 biggest favourites are there + anyone who'd stand a chance besides Rog and Rev.

As for third place? Today I say Bardet. Tomorrow I might say Yates. Or O'Connor. Or Hindley. There are so many riders realistically vying for spot.
I'm just focussing on not getting too excited. I got really excited for an epic duel ahead of the Giro and I learned a lesson there.
A lesson I should have learnt years and years ago but when the hype gets going, there hardly is any way of stopping it :tongueclosed:
