Far rather Gerrans or Matthews than Albassini, in fact can't think of a rider I would want to win less than Albassini

About the Aussie bashing, nobody is hating on someone like Durbridge, Adam Hansen and all the talented young climbers that they have (Lachlan Morton, Power, Haig, Hindley, Chris Hamilton...).

I don't understand why Matthews is so disliked on this forum
Anybody who self-propagates the nickname "Bling" deserves any and all dislike they get.

And RHD, Albasini was 33 when the incident with Réza took place, more than old enough that you can't dismiss it as a youthful mistake. YMMV on how much impact it should still have now, but it's the kind of thing you can't just gloss over and forget about a few months down the line as if it never happened.

My point is, finishing 15 or 25 GTs or whatever the number is isn't an achievement in the modern peloton and shouldn't be something which detractors fall in awe over. Close to all riders in the pro peloton could do that if they got the opportunity to do it barring injuries, crashes etc, which now that I think about it, probably is the most impressive thing about it after all.

I wasn't dismissing it as a youthful mistake, simply as a mistake he made because he was frustrated. Everybody - regardless of age - can get angry and say stupid things.

Yeah, that's replying to LS' post about Albasini. Would you stop ninjaing me?

Not Matthews and not Gerrans....

Very happy with that result. :D
As long as it isn't an Aussie. Love this forum
That's not what I said, please don't make things up that don't exist.

I don't care where they're from, I just don't like either one of those riders.

Since that idiot Kirby thought that Albasini was Gerrans I was under the impression that they were both in contention for the win.

When you troll someone you should make sure mods aren't looking.

Pretty sure it's a very natural thing for man to start hating on something just because an other hates it too.

All in for Gerro and Bling, we can throw Albasini in for good measure, wouldn't want anyone to think this is an aussie thing...
LOL. Where does Froomey, the inventor of the dare devil hub-pedalling-technique, stand in this equation?

Hansen does a power of work in GT's - Is usually part of the sprint train for Greipel - Won a stage of the Vuelta - Think some must be confusing him with Cummings who sits at the back of the peleton.

I don't know if he's in the same class as bling and gerro, mainly because he's no coward with the way he rides. I'm not a Froome fan but I have respect for what he's done and can do.

Yeah but that was quite bad. I reckon for most people that phrase wouldn't be thought let alone said in the heat of the moment. In my opinion you have to already have a certain mindset to say something like that, no matter how frustrated you are.

Who knows what kind of mindset he's been surrounded with. He might very well have known that such a way of thinking was wrong and didn't actually believe it himself. Then he got angry and... instant regret!
Don't even remember what he said...

Never thought I'd see the day when 124 riders would be on the same time after two stages of Pais Vasco.

Would you ever say something like dirty negro, even if you are frustrated? Because personally there would be hundreds of insults which I'd rather use, not just because this is a very racist insult but also because I don't think "dirty negro" is such a typical phrase which you use when you are not thinking about what you are saying.

I see on Bet365 they have Matthews as the favourite for tomorrows stage with Valverde. Isn't the profile a little too difficult for Matthews? It'd be a letdown if he is still there at the end contesting for the stage win. I expect some kind of selection and action from the GC favourites.

Gerrans being seen in the sprints in the last few days will bother a few people, more than a few ! He was pretty anonomous last year. I will be putting my helmet on before logging in if he wins another classic. That's if the site is actually working at all................

I dislike his style of riding (smug wheelsucker trying to knick wins), but that's apparently the only way he can do it, so fair play I suppose. His nationality has nothing to do with it for me. I very much look forward to what the likes of Morton et als have to offer in the future.

Commonly known as sprinters.
