Incredible how De Lie can still be second after all the work he had to do. Van Baarle with a great win, Jumbo looks like the strongest team for the cobbled classics.

Omloop proved Jumbo didn’t miss a beat from last year, De Lie is a force to reckoned with in the cobbled classics(didn’t necessarily know that), and tactically ineptitude still reigns supreme.

Wellens and Mohoric with nothing to show. They were never going to podium here, so they might as well have drilled it in the end to get 4th and 5th.

Whilst apparently being somewhat ill with skin rashes all over. He just won't really hit that decline, the last of a generation.

It's impressive. Obviously he counts on his sprint so it's a bit easier to keep getting results, but it's impressive nonetheless.

Greg was quite strong today. Was in top 10 position on the Muur just before the Chapel, but slipped away and had to continue by foot. Also showed decent legs on the Berendries.

Lotto need to jettison Ewan and put everything into building a team around De Lie. Vermeersch is overrated based on one wet Roubaix and Campenaerts is overrated by himself above all else. No top-20 cobbles riders in the team for sure, outside of De Lie.
When did they last resign him?

I have a hard time believing Ewan money can buy a very strong team around De Lie.

Honestly if I was Jumbo Visma I would consider no bringing Belgian Pozzato to the cobbles classics.

They have a really strong squad of tactically intelligent riders who work well together. Why bring in Van Aert and get another Leuven situation, he is know to want leadership and is not so strong tactically.

They are riding like a prime quickstep.

With Laporte, Van Baarle, Tratnik, Benoot, Valter all flying they could seriously win every Northern classic.
They could send Van aert to do GC at Tirreno, do Sanremo, then another altitude camp, Romandie GC and be backup for Roglic in the Giro.

It can, they resigned him just before his first Tour crash in 2021. When he was still really good (2nd place MSR, Giro stage win). Lotto needs to hope Ewan wants to leave after this year so they can mutually agree to break the contract.
