Great, Madrazo crashed while training and broke his collarbone. So that's Madrazo, Terpstra and Sicard for the injured, Pellizotti and Riccò for the Clinic'd and Soler for the don't mind me just cruising around falling from my bike.

Giro d'Italia

BLYTHE Adam
COBO ACEBO Juan Jose
DEIGNAN Philip
DUARTE AREVALO Fabio Andres
KREUZIGER Roman
KRUIJSWIJK Steven
RENSHAW Mark
VENTOSO ALBERDI Francisco Jose

Not too bad a team, just one shy on a full side, will be interesting to see how many riders some people have riding. Could make a huge difference after its all over.

Kreuziger only one likely to contend overall but Cobo, Deignan and Duarte should figure on some stages. Ventoso to figure highly in some sprints and is Blythe Lotto's sprinter? Should top 10 a few times if so and Renshaw should bet some points leading out Cav on 3-4 stages. No idea about Kruijswijk, not even sure why I picked him either. :D

I have 13 riders if the start list holds up.

RUJANO GUILLEN José
BALLAN Alessandro
KRISTOFF Alexander
COBO ACEBO Juan Jose
BLANCO RODIGUEZ David
DUARTE AREVALO Fabio Andres
RASMUSSEN Alex
SIVTSOV Kanstantsin
VEIKKANEN Jussi
KESSIAKOFF Fredrik
BOS Theo
LÖVKVIST Thomas
DEIGNAN Philip

Most are domestiques however so I have to hope they finish to get the token points.

Most of those guys have potential to get some decent amounts of points.

A bit weak in numbers, but a few riders have points potential during the Giro. Di Luca may feature overall, and if not, he is a certainty for some stage points (Montevergine anyone?).

I'm convinced that Duarte will do something, while Deignan and Ulissi also are possible stage winners.

Luckyboy's team looks very promising for the Giro.

Giro for me:

Cobo
Duarte
Ciolek
Seeldrayers
Bos
Stetina
Hermans
Hoogerland

Looking at the list, while there may be some stage win potential, I don't see much hope in the GC for me. I anticipate losing ground in the Giro.

Well my team is done. Currently in joint 3rd so in the lap of the gods If i move up into a money position.

Best team I think I can put out, but taken a risk with my captain and vice captain and gone against the grain. If it pays off I move up, if it doesnt I drop down. If i have the same riders as the rest of the top 3 its just going to maintain status quo.

taking a semi gamble and going for assist points as well. Was considering a complete stab in the dark and going for breakaway points but decided not to.

My Giro squad:

BOS Theo
COBO ACEBO Juan Jose
DI LUCA Danilo
HOOGERLAND Johnny
KESSIAKOFF Fredrik
MASCIARELLI Francesco
NAVARRO GARCIA Daniel
RUJANO GUILLEN Jose Humberto
SAMOILAU Branislau
SEELDRAEYERS Kevin
SLAGTER Tom Jelte
VAN WINDEN Dennis

Not an awesome team, and most of them will be domestiques in this race. But a few good placings on stages here and there, and a decent GC by Rujano and maybe Seeldraeyers should be possible.

I have Sella Duarte Di Luca Rujano, is all you need to know for Giro. I have others like Bos Ballan, Nocentini etc etc but those are the big 4. Anyone have Anton, Duarte, Di Luca, Rujano sella, ( I know Lucky has 3 of those and Menchov which might be even better)

I had a look around for the best Giro teams.

Armchair_cyclist: Anton, Di Luca, Duarte, Rujano
Bumeington: Anton, Cavendish, Di Luca, Duarte, Rujano, Sella
deValtos: Anton, Di Luca, Duarte, Kreuziger, Rujano
luckyboy: Ballan, Cavendish, Di Luca, Duarte, Menchov, Rujano
Sasquatch: Anton, Di Luca, Duarte, Gadret, Löfkvist, Sella

...and my personal favourite:
bicing: Anton, Ballan, Bruseghin, Di Luca, Gadret, Rujano, Sastre, Sella

Parrulo is more of a wildcard, with a slightly more unconventional Giro lineup:
Ballan, Duarte, Löfkvist, Machado, Nieve, Rujano, Sella, Szmyd

There is obviously a good chance Rujano will flop but if he does perform well (i mean very well, like challenge) then it will be interesting because Rujano is the main pick that AAC who is heavily in the lead at the moment, missed out on.

Why thank you Squire! I also have Rasmussen, Renshaw, Navarro and Meyer, of which I expect to gain a whopping 5 points from Navarro.

My team's Giro goal: 5 stage wins, top 3 KOM, top 3 GC, top 10 GC, another three top 20 GC's. Plus 9 riders to finish.

At least they only cost about a thousand points collectively. My Giro starters cost 3 times as much.

My team's Giro goal: 5 stage wins (Anton 1, Di Luca 1, Ballan 1, maybe Sella? Don't think you'll get five), top 3 KOM (Sella), top 3 GC (Anton? I think that's asking a bit much), top 10 GC (Anton & Sastre), another three top 20 GC's (Bruseghin, Rujano, Di Luca, Gadret). Plus 9 riders to finish. (A big ask)

You're probably being a bit optimistic about the stage wins, but I think the team will score big.
