I forgot I have Cobo! All is well. He's going to earn me at least 300 points there.

For the Giro I have Rujano, Pozzovivo, Anton, Bruseghin, Seeldrayers, Sabatini, Nieve, Kristoff, Kessiakoff, Nordhaug, Deignan. The first three may do something. But you never know; people like Seeldrayers, Deignan, Nieve, Kessiakoff might get lucky and win a stage from a breakaway.

Romandie: Txurruka, Renshaw, Ignatiev, Sabatini, Seeldrayers

Liege: Kessiakoff, Ivanov, Deignan, Uran, Nordhaug, Anton, Taaramae,

I know! Hopefully he picks some more up at Romandie and ToC.

GIRO
Ballan
Kristoff
Anton
Blanco
Renshaw
Tiralongo
Bos
Cardoso
Hunter

Most of those guys have potential to get some decent amounts of points.
Anton - I think a top 3-5 is possible (245-315)
Ballan - the strade bianche stage will suit him very well (0-70)
Kristoff - Hopefully a few top 10's but I don't expect much (0-30)
Blanco - Hopefully he goes in a breakaway and does something but that's unlikely (not sure)
Renshaw - Leadout for Cav though might still get some top 5's (0-100)
Tiralongo - A possible stage win and maybe a top 10 if lucky. (80-140)
Bos - definetly possible he could win a stage (50-140)
Cardoso - good chance to win a hilly stage (50-140)
Hunter - 'as above' + some top 10's (0-50)

My giro team needs to peform as I don't really like my chances for my likely tour team of getting a result other than cadel.

nah your team can climb might see them in breakaways.
Well, my team is not that bad in real-life terms, but I don't see how any of them will score any points unless they get lucky in a breakaway. Modolo hasn't looked too good this season but I figure he'll be up there in the sprints, but everyone else is not a very safe bet. Bakelants, Seeldraeyers or Deignan could even get a lucky top 10 in the GC, but it's more likely they'll be somewhere between 15 and 40, which won't get me many points.

My Giro Team:

Igor Anton
Theo Bos
Philip Deignan
Danilo Di Luca
Laurent Didier
Juan Jose Cobo
Fabio Duart
John Gadret
Thomas Lovkvist
Branislau Samoilau
Kevin Seeldraeyers
Emanuelle Sella
Kanstantsin Siutsou

Not a bad team. Anton, Di Luca, Gadret, Lovkvist, Sella, Siutsou - some of them will finish top 10, and most will finish top 20. Bos for stages, Cobo and Duarte for breakaways. Seeldraeyers for a break. Should move up the rankings - particularly if all these riders finish the race.'

My team is more grand tour/stage race types.

If I chose 9 for the Giro, this would be it and it would give most teams there a run for their money.

Igor Anton
Emanuelle Sella
Danilo Di Luca
Thomas Lovkvist
Kantstantsin Siutsou
John Gadret
Juan Jose Cobo
Kevin Seeldraeyers
Branislau Samoilau

Romandie:

John Gadret
Amets Txurruka
Kantstantsin Siutsou
Mikhail Ignatiev
Branislau Samoilau
Francesco Chicci
Kevin Seeldraeyers
Richie Porte
Brice Feillu
Pierre Rolland

Again, a nice team.

I'm thinking Menchov for top 3 + maybe a stage/TT, top 10, stage + green jersey for Rujano, one or two stages for Cav, couple of other guys in the top 30.

Seeing as the first GT is coming up - any ideas of which stages [and how many] we will be predicting?

TTT, one or two hilly/flat stages, Etna, Zoncolan, MTT, Sestriere, ITT?

Hmm, if I had to choose, I would take 5 stages (but of course more is better):

Stage 4 (for the sprinters(fans), but not too boring because of the hill)

Stage 7 (short, fast and first MTF, so not as easy to predict as then the 2nd MTF on Etna, because probably same people up there like on Montevergine)

Stage 13 (Grossglockner MTF - a must :D )

Stage 16 (mountain-TT), or Stage 21 (Milan TT)

Stage 18 (probably breakaway-stage)

In order to maintain my last position I had to come up with some more crazy names again :D

Too bad I wont see it tomorrow as we are going to the BIG 4 concert tonight and leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow morning. :p

Oh ****, yeah going to have to figure that out. At least 1 sprint stage, 1 TT and 3-4 main stages prehaps? Need them spaced out which will be tricky

There shouldn't be too many I think. Over the course of the whole season you'll get totally dominated by stages rather that the bigger races. Also it's a pain to keep track of so many deadlines in three weeks. I would keep it at 4 or perhaps 5 of the main stages.

Your not the only one with a lot of faith in Team Katusha.

By that I meant with a 1 on the end. Basically the team leaders.

So Mr. Hitch, do you still think Vandevelde is gonna win Liege?

The 1 thing was obviously a joke.

And I never thought Vdv would win Liege, just said that the monuments so far could not have been more disasterous for me (cq wise), and the one thing at Liege that could continue that trend would be CVV winning.

I went for safe picks once again. The five favourites, I think.

The only decision was Rodriguez or Kolobnev.

So how about Stages 1, 4, 9, 14, 21?

Can't really find enough appropriate MTN stages more than 2 days apart unless we go for the Grossglockner than Zoncolon

Edit: Just realised/remembered S1 is a TTT, not doing that.

Maybe try something like 2,7,13,14,21. St2 being the sprint stage, st7 the first mountain stage, 13,14 a "double header" and the main mountain stages and 21 being the ITT.
