My Giro Team:

-David Blanco
-Adriano Malori
-Theo Bos
-Jack Bobridge
-Cameron Meyer

Not a whole lot of points to be had, sadly. Meyer and Bobridge might get me 17 points apiece for winning the TTT. Bos might score 10 points a few times over for finishing 5th in a sprint, but that'll be it. :(

Now the race has started no more predictions. Teams are up in the 2nd post. Good luck to all.

It truly is amazing how many different combinations of Gilbert Rodriguez Vino and Samuel Sanchez people can come up with.

Maybe try something like 2,7,13,14,21. St2 being the sprint stage, st7 the first mountain stage, 13,14 a "double header" and the main mountain stages and 21 being the ITT.

Sounds good.

Interesting decisions for the final week in my quest for a podium spot.

Me:

Gilbert
Kolobnev
Rodriguez
Vino
Gasparatto
A Schleck
Cunego
Gesink
Uran
Gerrans
Anton
Albasini

Only the team currently in joint 3rd place with me have Vino.
Only the team in 2nd have Andy Schleck
Second place doesnt have Kolobnev
and none of them have the two sky riders, gasparotto, albasini or anton.

Im hoping to get assist points from those riders.

The rest of the top three have sanchez, hesjedal, taramae, waele, and a few others.

So i need Vino, Andy Schleck and the Sky boys to do the job.

Dare I say it, Gilbert may actually end up being a good pick this year! Not for me, but 1 person picked him.

Ugh, bad decision to go against the trend!

Andy not even good enough to beat his brother, so I lose my streak.

Well entrenched int he pack now, will come into form for the Giro though.

Nice result with Uran for you Dim. Fanboyism does pay off every now and then :p

CAS was my best result excluding the obvious favourites, but not much after that.

he was cheap, only 4 pts and i had a tip off. First time Ive had two sky riders in my team since the first race, and had gerrans for all the ardennes races.

its going to be close, all depends how many breakaway sectors Gasparotto was in. 4 pts, if not second by about a point. :/

Going to be very very tight. Ive got 7 riders in the top 20. Leader only has 4 in the top 20.

5,6,12 & 25th today + stragglers for 300ish points, and the latest chapter in the my Guardini love affair.

People who ought to be ashamed of themselves -

- The Schleck
- Whichever **** ordered Gaspo back from the obvious winning move to support 2nd rate team leaders.

I wonder if any rider have ever had a better CQ month than Gilbert has had in April?

24/04/2011 1.WT1[Bel] 1 Liège - Bastogne - Liège 275
20/04/2011 1.WT2[Bel] 1 Flèche Wallonne 220
17/04/2011 1.WT2 [Ned] 1 Amstel Gold Race 220
13/04/2011 1.HC [Bel] 1 Brabantse Pijl 140
3/04/2011 1.WT1 [Bel] 9 Ronde van Vlaanderen 74

Edit: Hmm I guess winning with Tour with all the points you get for leading and stages etc will accumulate to something similar but that doesn't feel like the same kind of accomplishment.

Wasn't he dropped at that point?

For a dropped rider he was doing an awful lot of looking around, and it was certainly odd to see him pulling the peloton with Roman on his wheel as soon as he was caught...

Why odd? He had something left to work for his leader after being unable to hold on to the front group.

He pulled the peloton for 3 or 4km after coming back. There is no way a genuinely dropped rider has that much left.

He was "dropped" between the climbs, after looking around for several hundred metres. If he wasn't getting weird info through the radio, I'm a bloody dutch man.
