Be Afraid. LoL that's De Jongh xD

Contador said that the strokes are harder than the ones in 2010. I honestly think this will be the best stage in the tour. That stage in the tour 2010 was really good and intense :)
note the protective leggings though.

I wonder how guys like Contador, Froome or Kreuz would do in Roubaix. Do they have the engine to finish the race at least?

Ya, they could probably finish the race, but why would they even participate? That would be an unnecessary risk for them.

Contador needs to go all out on that stage and try to take time on Froome.

Iirc Contador could have done even better on that stage but the crash of FS delayed him and at the end he had a puncture.

He's pretty good on the cobbles especially knowing his form was a bit shady in that tour.

Ha ha what makes you think thats possible name me 1 guy who is better on Saxo than Thomas or Stannard? And you seriosuly think it's a given AC is better than CF on cobbles. I'd say other way round if Diva can do it then Froome will do it as Froome is always 1 notch above the Diva Wiggins and always will be.

With Froome's bike handling skills or lack thereof he would be lucky to finish that stage in one piece.

I don't think contador should expect any time on froome in that stage. When gc riders face eachother on cobbles, punctures are probably a bigger deal than anything else.

The other big thing is riding on the front and contador actually sucks at that sometimes. I mean he lost time already the last cobble stage in 2010 because he was caught behind the crash. He lost time in Mont des alloutes for being way way way back. I seen it other times too when it didn't cost him.

Sky have a stronger team for cobbles too. Thomas and Wiggins and stannard. Who will contador have, bennati?

I agree that punctures are the big deal between GT contenders in the cobbles but in 2010 it wasn't a matter of positioning. Only a handful of riders passed with crashing/having to stop.
I would say that someone like Tosatto or Nicki Sorensen is good enough to protect Contador in that stage.

Say hi to Ventoux when we hit Hautacam. Dont worry ill remind you in the TDF. Froome will make him look silly, admit it Contador fears Froome more than any rival. In Catalunya he was looking back and thinking were is Froome, wow i dropped him. He was probably so shocked lol.

2010 was positioning. On cobbles every rider back you are increases your chances of falling behind a crash. He wasn't the worst positioned, but it still wasn't far enough.

Probably then again we can't be sure, it hasn't been done many times.

I still think Froome is better than Contador so imo you should try something. I know it's tough, we all know Froome has a better team on the cobbles. It's early in the tour.

But it's way safer to be riding a hard tempo in the front, other teams prob won't allow it but he needs to be there with the first 10.

I don't know how Froome is on the cobbles, prob good.

Yea you make way more sense, i just wanna see Contador go hard on the cobbles. It'll never happen after all.

By TDF froome will be skinny like a skeleton. Will he riding better than contador? at least contador has ridden cobbles once during TDF. And Froome is not. I'm not sure that Froome will do better than Contador. Puncture isn't the only worry, look what happen with Frank. :p

Fat Froome rode, but did not complete, Paris Roubaix back when he was with Barloworld. I think you have to presume that Froome will be ready. Now I'm not sure how his tendency to look at his stem will help him on this type of terrain, but I'm sure Team Marginal Gains will come up with something. :D
