I read on some Norwegian site back when Alberto signed the 3.5 year deal he actually only got a 3mln/year contract instead of the 5.5mln he used to get.
Jelantik said:yes.. I mean 2013. Not 2012. I thought he is supposed to win one GT every year with that kind of money? no? if not . then 4.5 euro seems like an easy money then.
side note: I hope bjarne would puke blood before taking oleg back. This guy is a jerk. After roche got the red jersey he gotta tweet something condesanding. Finally the team pay back the sponsor. As much as he was right to say that, but what a jerk. Imagine if he actually got his way running saxo tinkoff. I bet everyone can't wait to leave..

Cant keep him down though

maxmartin said:Since when you are on board? LOL
LaFlorecita said:Since he was the first to abandon the sinking AC ship.
The Hitch said:Never abandoned no ship. Im the guy radioing in from hq that the captain is behaving incompetently and steering the ship into an area of mucho soviet submarines.
I refuse to go down some "God save the king, its his ministers to blame" caution/cowardice route and pretend the king/captain in the analogy is faultless.
Whether yall choose to listen to my info or burn effegies of me as a traitor, thats up to yall![]()
LaFlorecita said:Fair enough, though I still don't get what that "info" is supposed to be. My opinion on you doesn't change because I have no clue what the point is you're trying to make (feel free to explain in it in an appropriate place) ans as the crazy russian would say "the bridges are fired".![]()
murali said:i meant, hypothetically if AC were to join the alonso's team, what are the monetary implications?
LaFlorecita said:1.5mln a year I would say. Plus some more mlns to buy out his contract.
Carols said:Just his name is worth more than 1.5m.....
I'm Very glad he is staying with Bjarne!!!
LaFlorecita said:A top 5 GC rider is worth about 1 mln. Add 0.5 to that for his name and you get 1.5mln. Seems like a fair amount to me and let's not kid ourselves, he doesn't need the money anyway. I am even thinking signing a 250,000 contract somewhere on a big team would make him perform better. Much less pressure. Just let him do his thing and he could win some smaller stage races and stages in bigger stage races.
One of his main problems is and will always be that he will never be allowed even a meter. That used to be no problem because he was the strongest so he could win anyway, but now that he isn't the strongest anymore it suddenly becomes a problem. Everyone is right on his wheel when he tries to go. He needs to be the strongest to actually win something. That's why I believe there will be very few wins coming his way in the next few years. He needs to change his attitude and stop acting like the #1 gc rider he used to be. When sky and the likes realize he's no real threat anymore he can get some wins.
The Hitch said:Contador 2011 Tour was not strong and wasn't allowed a meter. He still cracked Schleck on Gap.
Contador 2012 Vuelta was not strong and wasn't allowed a meter. He didn't give a ****, got that meter and then over the next 30k, another 1000 or so.
Carols said:Well I think you know what my opinion is, it hasn't changed. His flame Burned Early, it Burned Brightly...it is flickering. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he never won another GT.
The only thing that will change my opinion is seeing the flame in action on the road again.
It's all downhill from here, he needs to earn and invest wisely as much as possible while his name and reputation still mean something.

roundabout said:He was riding like a motorcycle on both occasions, so I am not sure where your idea that he was not strong comes from.
LaFlorecita said:He was not strong compared to other races.
LaFlorecita said:PS see a couple of posts ago, could you explain what point you're trying to make by posting negative things about Contador, I feel like I'm missing the point. Your post in the Nibali thread made it sound like your complaining actually serves a purpose. Could you explain it to me, I am genuinely interested.
roundabout said:Because he didn't completely destroy everyone else on 2nd category climbs?
