sir fly said:Tony is much heavier.
Just like Nibali is heavier than Contador.

Miburo said:Nibali beated an old aussie, a random spanish rider and 2 frenchies.
Let him beat the best before claiming he's better than the best

BlurryVII said:Are you serious? "Nibali was 4th in this tour reasonablyt flat tt. Hard to be much better than that" Really? That's a STRONG assumption. So a top shape Contador would certainly not beat Nibali in that TT, nice one.
5. Are you implying Nibali at his peak is better than Contador at his peak as well? LOL
Are you aassuming that Contador, 7 times GT winner can't peak for a 3 weeks july race? LOL²
Also I saw you posted a link to TA 2013, do you want me to fill up this page with every video showing AC's better abilities both in TT as well as climbing?![]()
I wouldn't call a couple of seconds in the sprint at the line dropping.kingjr said:It's speculation but it makes sense, Contador would have needed to attack at pretty much every opportunity to get back as much time as possible. We defnitely would have seen a different race.
So we can say Contador dropped Nibali to Gerardmer cause he was better, right?
Vino attacks everyone said:Please show me a video where AC crush Nibali in a climbing stage from the last 2 years in a race that they both peaked for.
sir fly said:In the first paragraph you say an absolutely sensible thing.
But by the end of the second paragraph the sense leaves you and you continue to speculate all the way to the end of the post.
roundabout said:Funny how in the "other" place when Verbier is brought up some people would say that it doesn't count because of the alleged tailwind while over here it's "proof" of supreme climbing ability

Walkman said:I can't respond. I was warned and I don't want to be suspended for the upcoming Vuelta.
Miburo said:Contador has always proven to be better than nibali. Shouldn't you give that rider the benefit of the doubt? Why give it to Nibali? Don't make any sense.
Unless you can show me 1 MTF in his entire career where nibali crushed AC? Even in his terrible year of 2013 there's none.
Please give me the feats.
Where did you get that impression?No_Balls said:I see nothing but speculations
What is clear after the first really uphill-test is that a) Contador seemed a little better B) TS looked more stronger and solid then Astana c) he was still 2.37 after and both he and his team needed to gain time asap. d) He would haved to attack and his team would have helped him. That is ingredience for a different race.
If you still think Nibali would have soloed to every victory while Froome and Contador as observers in the bunch you is of course entitled to that opinion. Lets just say i disagree with it.
O.K., it wasn't a sprint.kingjr said:It wasn't even a sprint, Contador lead all the way to the line in the last KM and Nibali couldn't hold it.
I say that leaves an impression of a rider who simply can go faster uphill than the other.

It's VAM. Weight and wind doesn't matter.
Yes, something along these lines.Vino attacks everyone said:As we all know JRod isn't a good uphill sprinter at all. He is just clearly the best climber of all. It was a uphill sprint

Walkman said:I am the first one to admit I don't remember how long or steep the Verbier climb is but if I recall correctly it was the first mountain stage at the 2009 tour and almost all top riders posted crazy high VAM's during that stage.
Red Rick said:It's not a sprint if you can't accelerate cause you're blown up. Contador sprinted, Nibali couldn't sprint.
One was fresh as a daisy, the other was blown, while the other had his type of weather
Rollthedice said:Contador sprinted because he thought he was winning the stage. Nibali can't sprint. It was the last 50 meters. Stage over.
