Oh, just realized the video is sped up, so his actual cadence is lower

I don't know how you're drawing that conclusion. I watched it a couple of times after you posted it and nothing seems abnormal. Perhaps it's the fanboy blinders I have on.
The movement of the camera seems to suggest that to me. Or the camera person has Parkinson's
And he has posted sped up videos before

The movement of the camera and his body movement in the corner suggests to me that it's been sped up. How much, I don't know, but I guess his cadence and climbing style would look natural if we watched it at normal speed. I counted and I think he is at around 110 RPM in this video.

What do we care. High cadence, that means Tour + Vuelta + Giro '18. You'll love it, it's gonna be great

Yes, this settles it. Total suspense killer for July.

What I am looking forward to now is the aftermath to Contador's 'triple'. Because I tell you what is going to happen. Alberto shall retire after number 10/12, after this third/fourth Giro, amid a sea of controversy. For it is obvious what he is doing: Avoiding the inevitable domination of Dumoulin at the 2018 TDF.

A popular thread thus begins on the forum: "How Many GT's Would Have Contador Won If He Had Competed In The Era - or directly against - Of GC Tom?"

Most vote none :D

Doesn't look sped up to me, great cadence. But once you are going for it in races he will probably resort to the more grinding style he has developed recently.

Contador: Cycling's Rorschach Test :D

Exactly. He's so thin...he's too bulky in the upper body...etc. Based off of one photo. This thread is funny. I can't wait until July to see how this all goes down.

Agree not sped up, but I can't believe the amount of discussion about one riders 70 odd pedal strokes! Looks like me on the flat

It was the weight last year. Next year there will be discussion on whether his chain ring is elliptical or standard.

For fans, it is interesting to see him use a smaller gear, although this is obviously too small (if the video isn't sped up...) and he'll go back to a larger one for the Tour. But it gives us hope he won't be grinding a huge gear up Mont du Chat in July.
No one is forcing you to read this discussion, if you're not interested.

Honestly, he's always on a smaller gear when sitting than when dancing on the pedals. It would've been more interesting if he'd stood up and used a small gear.
