Didnt: Cadel and Nibali both test positive for doping, along with the rest/half of Astana, to the point UCI tried to strip their license?

No neither of them tested positive.
Sastre, as rumor has it, apparently tested positive for Cera at the 2008 Tour de France with half his CSC as well. Which got covered up because ASO couldn't afford a 3rd year in a row without a legitimate winner after the Landis and Rasmussen events beforehand.

At least that's what L'Equipe more or less made up that summer.

With Astana I think it were Maxim & Valentin Iglinsky that got caught for EPO. Which led the UCI to unsuccessfully call for a license removal ahead of Astana's legendary shameless 2015 Giro d'Italia!
Any source on the Sastre rumor?

It's one of these things I could 100% see happening but it could also easily be made up. Basically cherry picking the positives to pretend you're catching people but also trying really hard not to destroy your own race.

What's really confusing to me though is that Ricco wasn't popped for Cera in the 2008 IIRC

I have read about the suspicion of Sastre before, but I can't find a single source on English. I can however find a dozen sources on Danish from either the state broadcaster/public service channel DR, TV2 who has broadcast the Tour since forever and some tabloids. They say, that according to a Belgian newspaper (Le Soir), Sastre was tested positive for CERA along with O'Grady, Cancellara and Fränk Schleck. It's all hearsay though, just like when people speculated that Moscon was involved in Operation Aderlass a month ago or so.

Ricco said that 48 riders tested positive at the 2008 tour and UCI covered it up, he recived a list of who by "mistake", he shared it on twitter about 5-6 years ago.

To be precise, he shared the "fact" that he received the list. Not the names on it.

It was what i meant, but thanks for clarifying. The sport is rotten to its core, as all sports are so i belive him.

I loved Mal since I saw him punching the spectator. Last summer I asked specifically if people thought he was clean. I thought maybe he was. How ironic. People here guessed he wasn't. Whoever said so was right.

How common is they being investigated for trafficking vs using? My noob self thinks trafficking sounds serious. (And then I am again reminded of Rasmussen and a shoe box).

Trafficking is imo way worse.

Using can be (depending on country and substance) only a sporting matter. Trafficking, if proven guilty, will almost certainly result in criminal charges.

Lopez is an interesting case. Some of his climbing performances over the past 5 years have been extremely WTF.

But because of the fact that he is extremely specialist, and is basically only good at long high climbs, he has avoided raising too many eyebrows.

It's a shame that they are investigating trafficking charges though. That is very serious

Average of 25 years for drug trafficking in Colombia at first glance, although happy to be corrected. https://www.dejusticia.org/en/column/sentences-for-drug-traffickers-from-south-americas-pacific/

Famous guy, high profile case, I hope for his sake they found nothing because they will throw the book if they did one would think maybe make a bit of an example. He'd best start rolling on people otherwise he could be completely ****ed.
I don't know how drug trafficking laws work. If he is investigated as part of an investigation in Spain, will he still be charged in Colombia? Forgive my ignorant

I assume the trafficking charge relates to activities between Spain and Colombia as he was stopped at the airport. They apparently have a bilateral extradition treaty, although it's unclear the context in which that would be excersied, I think there are few lawyers on here who know what they're talking about as I'm just going of a few twitter talking heads.

From the look of these correctional facilities though I'd take my chances in Spain, some these Colombian joints seem like they are no joke and MAL strikes me as a sensitive boy.

The #FreeSuperman lobby has succeeded

Colombian cyclist Miguel Ángel 'Supermán' López is not being investigated by the Civil Guard within the framework of Operation Ilex for drug trafficking, although he has been suspended by his team, Astana, sources from the Civil Guard have informed Efe.
