Guys, it's January. You just make mental notes and reserve judgment until you can actually perceive any trends.

yep.
My guess: Lelange drove a squeaky clean agenda from somewhere in '12 and into '13. Results were missing and he was fired. TUE level stuff have been back since. Puffers and Cortisone etc. Still within the "rules" probably. Now lets see how it translate to the cobbles and GT races.

Yeah, Gilbert is already bragging about how great his winter was. Rebellin even said Gilbert would have his former level back this year in the spring campaign. BMC is gonna fly.

Far as I know he left. He achieved what he wanted in 2011 and I don't think he is working in cycling still is he ? No one expects Evans to do this in the Giro do they ?

Mutual consent, meeting you halfway. Would not be surprised if hes still paid by the team perhaps for another 6 months, maybe more.

Just speculation.

Evans is at a turning point, he has had two years to think about it and now either books his retirement within the next season or two, or decides he wants to "win" again. I thought he was going to be up for it last year, so don't ask me what will happen. For all we know this is just part of his farewell tour making sure he ends his final race at "home" on a good note.

Id think Evans would have an advantage over those that came over from europe here. Also, its not like he was beating the best climbers/dopers in the world, other than Richie I suppose but i doubt he is at his max peak yet, until he has been to Tenerife.

I heard through a random grapevine he's been doing a media-type qualification to get involved with same once he retires.

If anything, I think he will be very careful to not test positive so he can step off the bike and into the studio.

Is another "Alvin and the Chipmunks" movie being made?

Jeez Evans hardly has any personality FFS. His dog has more....

He said recently if he is happy with his Giro ride he might keep going but if he is not happy with his level I think this year will be it. In other words no podium ......thanks for the memories.

God how strange. He always seems so uncomfortable with the media although better than he used to be. To be honest I never saw him as a team DS, too much his own man for those frustrations and dealing with a lot of people. In another way the media job does make sense if he is based in Europe. Speaks fluent Italian and lives there. Has said he misses his family too much and has a young son and maybe more on the way. Still I never expected that. I would have thought another book and more ads maybe. Money would not be an issue although I heard that he loves his cars and has more than a few. Australian Institute of Sport also has a base in Italy. Maybe some coaching ?

I was thinking that he did well to cycle away from Porte who, himself, has been a oft-discussed subject in this forum. And Evans, extremely poor all last year, and on his way down, suddenly finds power and speed to take the lead in his local race? Maybe cycling really is an old man's sport.

Not out of the realms of possibility is it for a TDF champion to be able to ride away on the only hill climb of a stage?

Read something similar where he claims he's "feeling better and healthy". What that means for the TDF? Not sure. Admittedly, I like Cadel, but if he thinks he's "suddenly" going to be beating guys again in the tour, he'll be in for a huge disappointment IMO. Not saying it can't be done(Cadel winning another TDF), just doesn't seem likely IMO. You're right to say no podium for CE, I just don't see it.

Evans right now. 37 years old. Just ridiculous

Was a surprise to see him up there with Rodriguez, but I guess Rodriguez is 35 too so not that much of a difference

Bahahahahah Sammy Sanchez dropping like a fly on a 4.7% climb while half the peloton's domestiques toughed it out the end. ffs.

Hope he does better than that in the 3rd week or he should be kicked to the kerb.
