He has showed he is not bad, We will see today if he is to get a good result here in Argentina, and if he can do a good first part of the season.

To me it looks WAY better than Vuelta 2014 where he was dreadful. IMO he is 2-3 kg above Paris-Nice weight and 5-7 kg behind ideal weight.

Last year nobody could see him for 5 months. This year he'll race and have a good plan. The big difference is...if he just keeps riding the races he is supposed to...he'll lose those kg and be in good shape come March.

It is curious, but he lost time in the second climb to "El Nano" yesterday, maybe 1 minute, but he managed to get the group in the descent, a group with about 50 riders

He's clearly not in peak shape, but it's early February. He's not so far out of shape that he can't be in very good condition by May, if he keeps to the straight and narrow. That last part obviously can't be taken for granted, mind you.

Having grown up wrestling, I know all about weight and how easily you can be considered "fat."

He's surely a bit full-figured for an elite cyclist. However, as an American it's just tough to consider that type of guy fat...when now you have to be around 50 pounds overweight before anyone would even consider you a tad heavy.

Wrestling singlets and cycling bib shorts don't leave any room to hide spare baggage though.

Hey, at least there is one pro left who shows up at the line still needing to shed winter weight. Makes us amateurs feel better.

He told cyclingquotes.com that he still hopes to be in the roster for the TdF, but he will accept the decision of the management.

He looks thin but these results... Maybe he's better off being fat like when he won PN

The most important is that he finishes this Tirreno. After that, he still has some 20 race days (Catalunya, Pais Vasco, Romandie) to find some form before the Giro. Of course his form isn't ideal at the moment, but I still have hope for the Giro.
