I can't comment on whether logic deserve a ban or not since I didn't see the posts, but it's quite funny to see somebody who was so reluctant to post for months in fear of getting banned again, descend so quickly into their previous habits.

Constantly derailing discussions into pedantic arguments over small points that really nobody cares about, and being unnecessarily confrontational and aggressive. Forcing people to skip pages of a thread they are reading through at a time because of the endlessly repetitive argumental tactics. It's so boring.

We all come here to have fun and joke around, to enjoy discussing the sport we love, to read different perspectives, i doubt it's a serious pastime for any of us. I never enjoyed threads where logic was posting.

We all follow certain riders and want them to succeed, we all have certain biases (apart from me, as the forum's objective poster).

But constantly claiming riders as superior, and looking to their achievements as a way to show yourself as superior, for being a fan of a 'more successful' rider, as if their achievements are yours, is a trait that logic and some others have and it's getting really annoying. It's like being the worst kind of football fan.

Having said all this, I would never want to see people banned because their viewspoints on cycling are different to my own.

There's another Belgian rider that I was expecting to have had at least 3 more GT wins on his palmares. I'm still waiting to be convinced he's a serious GT contender. (This post is not intended to goad his fans. Just my opinion)

Logic is innocent, his only crime was that he is a passionate fan. I will never understand why the mods/admins are so ban happy, and towards core members of this community, it's just crazy. I mean okay, delete the offending posts if they really deserve it, but leave the bans for spammers, actual trolls, bots, etc.

Because when a few posters indulge is such futile never-ending discussion an internet forum becomes borderline unreadable and most other posters / lurkers stop using it.

Yeah there are so many bans... everyone gets a ban all the time... not really. That is not really happening at all.

More like certain posters withers away by their own doing, good, and self-destructs.

On my own behalf, I can say that I don't shy away from disagreements or contested topics, yet I've managed to play within the lines of this field to a degree that has meant my last sanction (including personal warnings) was more than 2½ years ago (not counting an overturned ban). You come a long way if you refrain from personal attacks on other posters.

I mean the reigning world champ also uses that helmet so they can't have selected that image based on the notoriety of the subject. The takeaway for equipment manufacturers must be to avoid sponsoring dweebs.

I had the same idea. And Cian appears in the Bora outfit, which is even more questionable. Either way, I think the kid already has a career as a prima-donna firestarter. If he doesn't walk the talk soon he will slide into oblivion.

And no law privileges a rider with the right to ride UCI races. If he doesn't follow the rules, UCI are free to deny him the right to race.

Actually not; there have been court cases (example the Bosman-arrest) where sport organisation got obliged to allow sporters to practice their job dispite the sportorgansiations rules. Reasoning is that you cannot deny a person to do his job (which takes priority of possible 'sport rules'). So it doesn't automatically follow that UCI can just deny someone to race. The complexity is of course that a sporter might have to go to court which can take until he reaches retirement age....
In practice for cycling discussion cases have been handled outside of court so there is little jurisdiction - where I believe UCI is helping to handle these cases outside of court so they don't have to change their rules.

Example of rules from sport organisation's that got overruled by courts;
- a minimum of team members of certain country
- end of contract payments between teams
- sporters can terminate their contract like other workers

Cian results, lots of uphill, would lead me to believe that on a BMX bike and a WW2 metal military helmet the guy is going well.
For me the UCI is making things worse because all the huge washtub helmets are on every team, should solve the " debate " " controversy " immediately after the race and not during these 2 week long events. It's as if the UCI is always asking for time to read their own rule book.. An umpire with a blank stare as millions wait for the call at home plate!! You can't read the rules as the dust is settling!! Every country has their version of the 3 Stooges
