I just don't get where you got "Uijtdebroeks wants to lead a GT" from. He's smart enough to understand he didn't perform well enough to get leadership status. A free role on the other hand would make sense to me, but I can imagine Visma doesn't want to have riders going for GC on their own. That doesn't work with their vision of "Samen winnen (win together)"

He makes it clear that he wanted to go for GC in a GT. I'm unsurprised that wasn't in the cards. Yates will rightly lead the third GT, and both he and Vingegaard deserves fully committed helpers, not a spot reserved for someone doing their own race.

Yea, but is Cian going to pull a Supermán when the team lets Enric Mas ride for himself rather than sit back to protect Cian's ninth place in the Vuelta?
Or can they keep him happy by giving him a tiara and sash to remind him he's the prettiest princess?
This news surprised me. Cian said he would do the Giro, and besides, Enric Mas has a serious injury. Will Más arrive to the Giro?

Almeida recently explained it in an interview. He knows that 3rd or 4th is the best possible result for him there and then he'd rather be part of the winning team as a dom than a leader in some other. Besides, a lot less pressure if you're a in the team of Pogacar

And probably a share of a a lot of prize money each year as well. I assume that someone like Pogacar will forfeit all his prize money to his team mates like tradition dictates?

I think Almeida earns enough that prize money doesn't really matter to him. But maybe he has a nice contract bonus for being on a GT winning team.

Cian as always does set his own goals very high. Its attractive and if you succeed then there is a high reward. On the other hand the Risk of failure is higher. What do you think is realistic? If all goes well between 5th and 10th?

That would be a great result, but it's hard to gauge his level because he hasn't done a GT for 2 years now. Based on his 1-week stage performance in 2025, I wouldn't say he's able to finish top 10.

I think that a top 10 should be a realistic goal - but I'm also positive that Uijtdebroeks himself aims higher than that.
I do think that his level towards the end of the season is good enough to top 10 and perhaps even finish around 7th. His results in stage races perhaps weren't that impressive, but it was also in races that didn't suit him very well. He was very strong in the Italian one day races - much stronger than his results show.
