First of all I want to say thanks to everyone who is participating, thanks for the many kind words and thanks to kurtinsc and Ferminal for trying to help a spreadsheet newbie out
I had never imagined that this would be the huge succes that it, so far, has turned out to be. Heck, I even stated that I might cancel the whole thing if there wasn't enough who wanted to participate.
Now the thread has more than 250 replies and more than 5200 views. I have recieved PM's from 33 people who wants to enter the competition and quite a few more have stated in this thread that they wanted to join also. People are discussing individual riders and the theory and mathematics behind their choices. Awesome!
When I first decided to start the game, I thought "well there shouldn't be too much work with this. I might be looking at 10, maybe 15, teams entering, which certainly is doable without putting too much time into it".
However after just 24 hours I could see where this was going with the many teams already registered, which is why I decided to create the "25 teams maximum" limit (which turned out to be 25+ teams maximum

).
Now I do feel sorry for those who had planned on participating and maybe already had created a team but just didn't send it in because of the deadline of december 31, which is why I have decided that I will again allow everyone to enter the competition
if I manage to figure out something smart with the spreadsheet. I will contact Ferminal and kurtinsc who hopefully will spend a little time helping me out creating something that is easily manageable and easy to update.
Shouldn't I then have published the teams already entered? Probably not. But what's already been done, I can't change. If this means that a lot of new people joining will have some fun, for me, that's definately worth it. After all, it's just a game and the more people having fun with this, the better.
Will your "secret rider" be stolen by new teams entering? Perhaps. However, chances are that getting Cobo for free or buying Stybar or Dowsett for pennies won't be the deciding factor. I do, however, urge new teams entering not to "cheat" by simply chosing the most popular riders or stealing every single good idea. Again, this is a game, and games should be fun. What fun is it to do well in a virtual manager game if you simply copy other peoples choices?
Well enough with the ethics. I will start taking a closer look at the spreadsheet to see if I myself can figure it out or otherwise I will contact Ferminal and/or kurtinsc and then they'll hopefully help me out.
I hope everyone is OK with the decision.

Edit: wait, did i send Le Mevel in the corrected PM? He was there in the original team and is missing in the spreadsheet. drat, 510 points wasted
That's a mistake by me. You did indeed send Le Mevel in the corrected PM, and he will of course be added to your team.

Just for the record, the Izagirre I picked was Gorka, not Ion.
As far as I can tell, the Izagirre noted in the spreadsheet is Gorka and not Ion. If anything is wrong, please contact me again.

1) Have you recorded all the riders original values?
2) Will there be a leaderboard throughout the year of how everyone is going?
1) No. But hopefully the new and improved spreadsheet will include a colomn showing the 2010 value along with the 2011 value. I have a few ideas in mind - it's just my spreadsheet skills that limits the possibilities

2) That's one thing I'd definately like to create.
