With some inspiration from the spreadsheets I have recieved, I have made some changes to the one I recieved from kurtinsc. I will try uploading it later today to let people see what they think about the layout.

Good luck with that. You seriously think Dowsett will be doing spectacular rides and beating seasoned pros?

i see phinney and matthews getting as many chances as any neo pro at htc or saxo has been given. BMC are making a special bike specifically for phinney for the track. Quite of few of BMC's bikes won some big awards and they are known to be top bikes.

Let's not send this thread down a sidetrack with yet more of ACF's biased pearls of wisdom.
At least until we have all the teams in and the spreadsheet system sorted.

A number of guys are putting in a heck of a lot of work to get this up and running.
Chapeau sirs!

He and Cam will go to Berlin six-day and worlds track. This means not much point until May. From an article, i think i read it in cyclingnews, he said htc gave him a lot freedom to continue track. He has the talent. Hope he not waste it.

Take a look at this from a tweet from Mike Tomalaris

Just found the article which quotes him saying it.
http://www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/news/18627/Howard-calling-time-on-track-career

He may do the Berlin 6 day event but that will be it.

I have recieved your PM so don't worry - at the moment I'm just working on the spreadsheet so I haven't updated the list of teams.

nice one, wish i had got him.

Well, I read about the potential bargain buys in Cobo and Stybar, decided I wouldn't pick either one of them, and then I had to find another one by myself :) Would be surprised if noone else "remembers" him.

Really hope that Kritskiy gets some succes next season, he deserves it after his lack of luck in 2010.

And I just realised that I totally forgot about Di Luca, who was the first name that came to mind when I read HK's initial post - absolute brain fart on my behalf, but I'll have to do without him...

Your team is good. Kritskiy Van Summeren and Taramei are all riders i wish i thought of.

And you went with the full 33 which i think is a wise choice.

Alright.

I think we're ready for the 2011 season.

I have now uploaded the spreadsheet we will be using to keep track of the score board (unless something better comes up or something is very wrong with this).

Here's how it works:

The first sheet named "Rankings" shows a list of all the teams ranked in order. The leader is at the top and so on. The 2010 points shows the value of the team in the 2010 season, and the 2011 points shows the teams points this (next) season. Total point rank shows what place each team is in. Gain/loss shows how much profit the team has made (or lost!) in the 2011 season compared to the 2010 season.

The next sheets shows the individual teams. Each team has got their own sheet. This is because I thought it was a bit confusing and badly arranged if all teams were just thrown in one single sheet. Each sheet shows the same as the "Rankings" sheet: 2010 points, 2011 points and Gain/loss.

That's actually it. Don't mind the last 3 sheets named "Teams", "2010 Results" and "2011 Results".

Note: In the spreadsheet uploaded I have inserted the 2009 points in the 2011 points row. This was just to test if it works, but I thought I might as well keep it there - that way you can all see how it works

Now since I've been a bit busy the last days there will probably be a few minor mistakes in the various teams. I therefore request you all to go check your team to see if I've made any errors. Also please notice if your team value exceeds 7500.

If anyone notices anything in the spreadsheet that doesn't work please let me know. Also if I've made any minor spelling errors in your name, or the text size isn't the same in every sheet. Yes, I'm a bit perfectionist :)

Here's a list of team registered. If you aren't in the list but have already send your team, let me know.

Sure! Just send your team with the names according to CQ Ranking, like this:

BOONEN Tom
HAUSSLER Heinrich
etc.

That really eases the effort needed to be put into this by me :)

Thanks, but I really can't take all the credit for it myself. Without Ferminal, kurtinsc and bicing there was no way I would have been able to do this :)

Consider it done :)

It won't show in the uploaded spreadsheet but I've added him to your team on the one on my computer.

It is interesting to see who seemed to focus on teams made up of riders who got better last season in the hopes that they'd continue improving (guys who are at the bottom of the rankings... thus showing an increase from 2009 to 2010) and those who focused more on guys who had off years last year in hopes of a rebound (guys at the front of the rankings who had a lot more points in 2009 then they did this past year).

Ya, those are two very diffrent strategies and by looking where I end up in that spectrum I think it is quite clear which tactic I think is more likely to succeed.

True. Although I'm not sure if that's a deliberate choice or not. I think points can be made for both approaches. Someone like Sagan would probably not be a good choice (no offence intended on anyone :D) but there will be someone who is up and coming that scored more in 2010 than in 2009 and will score even higher in 2011. On the other hand, riders who's declining might not be the best choice while someone like Haussler probably is.

Can I ask why there is already is 2011 points and that the gain/loss is already filled for each of the riders? (probably a stupid question.)
