The same Horner that lost 3 minutes to Zabriskie in California? Or the same Kloden that has 45 CQ points this year?
I don't know, just go with Andy, he'll pull something out of the bag :D

Champs Elysee breakaway win?

The official tracker is a little confused.

"Hagan has set the best time at the second check point. He is 35 seconds down on Durbridge". ??????

Andy lost over 9 min

What % has an ITT?
Can Tony Martin send him out of the race?

No way, only Vanmarcke risks being disqualified, the time limit is at least 15 minutes.

Plenty of fit weekend riders could make 25%.

As an example, a flat 30mile/50km* time trial could be won in 1 hour exactly. Adding 25% on, gives (60/4) 15 minutes extra to get to the finish. 30 miles(50kms) done in 1:15 gives an average speed of 24mph/40kph.

Its mountain time trials which are harder, for instance the steep Plan de Corones TT in the Giro 2008 was done after several hard days in the mountains, and 6 guys couldnt make it up in time.

The more testing limits are on mountain stages - typically 15% on the toughest stages. Latitude is given when large groups all fail.

Yes, I understand about the Time Limit on normal road stages, but I didn't know one applied on ITTs as well. So they make it about 10% longer to give them a cushion.

I ride everyday, 250-300km a week, but not sure I'd get within 25% of Wiggo's time today.

I reckon quite a few others here would join me on the bus too.

We shall soon see...

Van Garderen doing great.
He has a tendency to start too fast though, will be interesting to see if he has timed his efforts better this time.

Devenyns doing well at the second check. Up to 6th, only lost 34 seconds to Durbridge between 1st and 2nd splits.

Your expectations for Durbridge and Van Garderen were pretty low, I seem to remember from somewhere upthread...

Still a really good time.
Durbridge obviously has better shape now.
You can't compare everything to the california TT.
