Re:

I swear, I've seen bbc presenters look more upbeat when covering natural disasters than they did now when talking about Gatlin's 200m performance.

Don't blow it tomorrow JG.

Two Kenyans suspended for doping at World Championships

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/08/kenyan-runners-banned-doping-world-championships-150826111542678.html

as to doping among sprinters, nothing changed. just look at gatlin - now in his 30s he's just as bulky and even faster than when he was sacked for doping
Is it that hard to read a thread to see if someone already posted the news hours ago?

i dont see a huge harm, even though the news may have been reported...if it hurts you, swallow it or take a painkiller. if the mods feel, it crowed the thread, i dont mind them removing it. i wont whine about a deleted post like some.

No there is none. And Bolt is guilty beyond any tiny doubt. Circumstancial evidence as big as it ever was with LA before he got banned...

19.19 over 200m? Hello anyone... that is like a Alpe time of 34 mins... His 200m "WR" is even more grotesque than his 100m one.

Look at the semis now: The top sprinters run 1 second (!!!) slower... in phucking 200 meters only.

And take into account he clearly slowed down whilst others were still spilling their guts out.

He's very tall and has longer legs of course he runs quicker.

By that logic Shaq should have been able to go under 9.30
i would guess the fastest NBA players are on average probably a bit smaller than Usain (1.95).
googled "fastest NBA player", i get the names of John Wall (1.93), Russell Westbrook (1.91), Ty Lawson (1.80) and Michael Conley (1.85).

Shaq is not a sprinter, that's like saying bolt would be a great bb player

You mean it's like taking one random variable that is slightly different between the two groups, & saying that it is responsible for the differences in a completely different variable in the two groups ?

Yes, it is just like that !

Vague Corrolation does not equal causality !!!!!!

Shaq runs up and down a court throwing a ball around " simple terms"
He was not smashing world sprinting records all through his career.
Their is no way Shaq a basketball player should be able to run as quick as Bolt. He plays basket ball he does not run or train for the 100 or 200.
So any man who his tall should run quick like Bolt ?
Any man who's short would be a good Jockey :D

bball speed is different though as it's more closed space speed. The smaller guys - point and shooting guards, are best as they have a lower centre of gravity

Now there was me criticising the BBC and Colin Jackson in particular and then watching the recorded highlight Colin tell it straight. No kidding, Bolt wins his semi easing up for the last 50 and still going well under 20 seconds. Colin Jackson then tells us "Bolt has something very special in the tank".

You just can't make this all up. The IAAF are in the dock becasue they ignored 100s of dodgy blood passport tests and clean Bolt is smashing the sh*t out of a bunch of dopers who are running faster than when they tested positive.

Whatever the hell Bolt has in his tank it sure as hell is not legal !

Interestingly, Conley's old man was an Olympic & World Champs Gold medalist in the Triple Jump so would have no clue about doping.

Like Shelly Fraser is small and has shorter legs she runs faster too. Or take Michael Johnson as another example... just debunks your absurd "argument" you come up with now and then.

Athletics is hilarious at the moment. Dibaba has a truly comical edge over her competitors, winning the 1500 with a last 800 better than the best the 800m runners are capable of. By far the most ridiculous performance in athletics since she broke the WR in Monaco.

Now the 400m final sees Meritt run a 43.6X personal best and come second. lol

Reminds me of brownlee running the 10k at the Olympics faster than most of the 10k final participants. This was of course only after he had finished the swim and cycle legs of the triathlon. But look at his puppy dog face. One every. mother would like to hug. You can't convince me he dopes. Maybe that evil looking none babyface Spaniard who came 2nd though. I've never even heard him speak, and with a name like Gomez, you can't be sure

Maybe I have misunderstood your post, but I think you might be mistaken on this.

Brownlee ran 29:07 in the 2012 Olympic Tri. If he had run that time in the 2012 Olympic 10k final he would have come second to last, 26/27.

Come on Foxxy ,,,if Bolt turns his legs over at the same rate as a person with shorter legs he will be faster.
You can't pick one hole in that.

Watching Denise Lewis and Michael Johnson discuss doping in athletics is priceless.

The level of cognitive dissonance required to take this championship seriously as a clean event blows anything cycling related out the water.

his pb in a non triathlon 10k would have put him 20th out of 26th. probably best to calm down with the hyperbole. And it wasn't even a very fast 10k.

So running 10km faster on the road (including high fiving the crowd near the end) after a 1500m swim and 40km bike ride than a finalist in the 10km on the track isn't surprising?

Faster than what? It's already been established that The Hitch's post was fabricated.
