Yes, there are quite a few Russian female middle distance runners among the bio passport cases in athletics, and no Russian male middle distance runners. The five Russian men on the list are one marathon runner and four race walkers. The coach Viktor Chegin had a race walking miracle going in Saransk, pumping out champions and record breakers.
Now it is pumping out doping cases; bio passport, EPO, Fenoterol, Carphedon and GW501516.
Why are there so many Russians on the list?
1. There are lots of doping in Russia, and some of it is too unsophisticated.
2. RUSADA has a bio passport program, they are testing to catch dopers and they are opening cases.
3. Most other countries, including those who are dominating mens middle and long distance running, doesn't have bio passport programs, and IAAF's program isn't good enough to catch dopers from those countries.
