I love that Jaskula pick. Those were some epic battles between Jaskula, Uwe Ampler, Olaf Ludwig etc during the Peace race.

And the Harachov comment made me all nostalgic as my family has a cabin just a few miles down from Harachov :(

Hitch must not like the 90's :D

Is it cause most of those races you weren't able to witness live? (cause too young orso?) or just a coincidence?

I like the porte pick though, he was prob the best climber behind quintana and froome in that tour.

I remember I saw that crazy TT in Harrachov live and it was Uwe Ampler who won it. All bar a couple of riders actually walked/tried to run up the hill, pushing their bikes.

My first 3 picks were 2000's and then I decided (and said) that I would do a gimmick all 2000's squad, and that I would choose a different country every pick.

And it allowed me to do the Quintana Ciapuci deception from a month ago.

I said before the draft though that Big Mig was my #1 and I would have picked him definately if he was on the board. Also would have taken Ulle if Armstrong was off board. Not sure about Pantani/ Riis vs Contador.

I was thinking, which nation will Hitch go for with pick #9 since all the obvious candidate nations were off the board. Especially after netserk took Sagan, who I thought was a good possible bet. Australia seemed the most likely candidate (France becomes quite limited if you're doing a post-2000 squad as you have been doing), but then it was, will the choice be one to help Armstrong or to help Cav?

Armstrong I guess. Was always going to go Australia (though won't name the riders since others haven't finished picking.

This just in, riders will now be subjected to a hematocrit test prior to the race. All riders submitting a hct value of less than 50% will be monitored for health reasons - there is a potential risk to their health from exhaustion trying to keep up.

With the latest on Niki Sorenson, can someone please pick him at their last pick? Independent of results, the notoriety of story deserves inclusion here.

Dave.

I think technically it is now my pick but I am going to wait a couple more days. I will make my pick Saturday Australian time if nothing happens until then.

the sceptic is next...

Hasn't been here since the 10th so close on two weeks. For someone with his involvement in the thread and the amount of posts he has made it is strange.

Silent ban?!

  :D

Seriously, did the sceptic get banned? Can an Administrator respond? Hello (waving my arms)!

I am reluctantly going to make my pick as the sceptic has unfortunately disappeared.

I will not do the write up that I have had written in my head for along time, but just say my last pick is Johan Bruyneel for his third place in the 1995 Vuelta.

The sceptic is traveling right now. Here's a post of his in the GGTG thread.

cheers foxxy. All my picks are made under heavy influence of alcohol ;)
Hi sceptic, what's up with your real account? Lost password? Either way, I will just remind you of the doping draft :)

I hope you will have a good travel.

I don't have access to my real account while traveling since the password is stored on my laptop.

anyway, feel free to just skip me in that draft.
