Bit of a nerve wrecking match huh? I didn't really watch it but my parents and younger sister were in another room watching it, my sister sounded funny! :p
But... well... we won...

Most entertaining game of the tournament so far. It just takes two teams with some lack of tactical discipline in the back line.

We're through! Now all we need is Robben.

I think if he doesn't play vs. Cameroon, and we continue to look shit the clamour over his coming arrival to the team sheet will reach almost Messiah-like proportions. The last 5 days we had the Messiah-lite Elia to take away most of the pressure on Robben, but now Elia didn't set the world ablaze for his 2nd 25 minute sortie Robben will become the focal point of the nation's hopes and fears.

Its a shame. I thought Cameroon were the best of the African nations and i wanted to have a good final group game. Also Italy if they top will play either Denmark or Japan so could be good for them. Will this be Samuel Etoos last world cup

God I hope I never get you as a lawyer. Look at both parts of his arm. One part is parallel to his body the other isn't. The shoulder to elbow is parallel with his body, the elbow to fingers are moving. It hit the part parallel of his arm, the upper part. There is an inconsistency right there. Go figure. I thought someone studying law was taught to question. My legal teachers told me to always question, why aren't you? I'll agree to disagree. There is nothing more I can say. Most people over here will disagree...not that it matters. Overall I wouldn't pass this ref, he was too inconsistent. But what can one expect from an Italian?

It is funny, as on the nine news the ghana player did a dangerous trip on bresciano i think and they said he was lucky to not get a red card but when cahill trips it was unlucky for him to get a red card.

Maybe if Elia plays the whole of the Cameroon game, van Marwijk will see sense and start him for the second round.

Completely agree, not very pretty game but incredibly entertaining. That final score should have been 7-6 or something like that.

How are Aussies taking this? Wait till the majority wake up. They'll be ****ed.
worse was not giving that ghanian a red card for flying into the back of the aussie (sorry i didn't see who was who). he came in with his studs and got a yellow, while Tim Cahill was red carded in the previous game for a very weak tackle that he was obviously trying to pull out of.

mind you australia seems to have got off lightly compared to the US.

it looked a bit harsh to me the penalty but then again so was the nz goal.

I think defensive players have learned that if you want to delay penalties you should step into the box, forcing the ref to whistle and delay the penalty. Every penalty this world cup seems to take an age.

Come on Kiwis. Please pull it off. Send those overrated pretty-boys running off crying into the arms of their wives, girlfriends and mistresses

Well done by the kiwis. So Italy will probably face the Netherlands if they go through the next round. And Paraguay will face the best of Denmark and Japan.

Probably Japan. Denmark has to win, while Japan can settle for a draw to advance. If Japan manage to lock the joint down like they did vs. the Netherlands, and avoid any more blunders, they'll go through.

DAMN THIS IS BAD.
Netherlands face Italy in last 16, while Spain get free ride to the semis, where they will most likely face Argentina or Spain. (I still think Spain will top their group, though i hope not)

I have been disappointed before this WC, but I have high hopes for Brazil-Cote d'Ivoire... I have a feeling this might be a barnburner.
