Does the way Germany are playing mean Portugal and Paraguay were hard done by?

Spain are looking pretty good right now. They were my pre tournament favourites so maybe I should be happy. I'll see how the rest of the game pans out.

most did. Their squad is a little hard to ignore.

spain playing the better football, their best of the tournament.

I always feel a little bit sad when i see cyclists giving this respect to footballers, knowing full well that footballers dont know or respect cyclists, even though cyclists are far better and tougher athletes.
just saying.

Way to generalize. I'm sure you get some footballers who love cycling.

Football is the world sport, this is more a passion thing, then respect.

Great run by pedro

im not critiscising you moon nor am i trying to correct any grammar. I only made the post as i understand you are a fellow uni student. I could equally have refferenced orwell since he used that particular oxymoron with success and perhaps that would have been more suitable given what your signature is.

If Germany wins the world cup, Niermann will probably be killed by Gesink and Freire

One can interchange the names either way. Someone has to win. As long as it is done by goals that are legit and doesn't go down to diving or penalties then I will be fine with any of the 3 winning. Can't say those riders will be, but taking down a team mate ain't advisable for either Gesink or Freire. They need help as they are Rabo's big guns.

Yes, Freire is paying immense respect to Klose :p

Oh, and what TLR says.

well to me, its still sad that an athlete (klose) who puts balls in a goal (and i know, risks injury but so do cyclists) and is not and is nor has ever been in the top 50 of his sport gets infinately more respect than the top cyclists (who push the limits of pain to extraordinary limits)

That's a different use of the words "more equal".

spain have been clever. They played slightly less in the first half and now have moved in for the kill, knowing that if they score at this stage, germany will struggle to score in the short time remaining.

What theyve done in their knockout matches so far.

Well it's not the footballer's or cyclists fault that they get more respect from the general community. Like I said football is the world game, I'm sure cyclists understand this.

And that kind of reasoning can relate to so many things.
I.e people in poor country work much harder then us, yet were living the life they dream off etc. It's just a part of life.

Spain are really pushing..

Germany have been disappointing, they have really struggled to hold possession, and seem to panic on the ball.

and saying that, what a chance. Come on Germany !!!

Not as sad as your 2nd example - poor people though.
