"Das ist normal, das hier ist multi-kulti"

i luv that fler song!

nice game by france

Up until now I've never seen Fler in any kind of positive light.

Argh,i hate these french guys but this was a public execution, maybe Switzerland should think a bit about this multi-kulti thing, perhaps they push it way too far.

What a STUPID comment.
Switzerland losing was because of the 'foreigners'???

Great World Cup So far !

Goals a Plenty, South & Central American teams doing well, Spain & England out in the first round hopefully joined by the dirty arrogant Portuguese.

Most of the top attackers are on fire too !.

Genuinely surprised by France, but 98 and 06 were good years for them, so may be it's time for them again, they usually get it right every other World Cup.

Hitzfeld trying to make the Swiss more attacking has failed miserably.

Who would have though they would leak 5 goals.

And absolute stunning performance from the Costa Ricans.

Who would have given them a chance to progress after the drw was made.

I greatly enjoyed France/Switzerland yesterday especially since I expected something more along the lines of their 2006 encounter which was probably the most boring match at that WC.

It's nice to see that France had five different goal scorers, thus showing great collective strength.

The forwards may not be the best in the world but they are scoring goal after goal at the moment. In middlefield, any combination of three players out of Pogba, Matuidi, Cabaye and Sissoko (which was surprisingly good in the first two matches) is physically strong enough to run any team, bar Germany, into the ground. As long as Koscielny doesn't play, France has a very good chance against every team in the WC. Until Sakho came off, the Swiss had barely made a dent in the French defense but once Koscielny came on things started to go wrong. He made a unneccessary foul which gave away the free kick that Switzerland (with a little help from Benzema) converted and his attempt at a clearance on the second goal was very poor. Ultimately, these goal are pretty meaningless but they still don't bode well for the future if Sakho/Varane get injured.

France are doing much better but also drew well by getting into that group compared to the Costa Rica group and also Spain's group.

France has an easy group but let's not forget that the French players had probably the hardest path to actually get to Brazil. They were in a group of five with Spain back when Spain still played quality football. Then they played Ukraine, a quality team (England should know), in the playoffs. The Netherlands had an easy qualifying group but a hard group (at least on paper) in the WC. It all evens out in the long run. Except for the Swiss who had an easy group in qualifying and in the WC but after their performance yesterday, it does seem like they need all the luck they can get.

Ah, yes, I must have misunderstood the part where you said "maybe Switzerland should think a bit about this multi-kulti thing, perhaps they push it way too far."

Italy's reliance on Balotelli is going to be their downfall. They should play a 4-5-1 without him.

Immobile should be the striker with Insigne and Cerci as Inside Forwards.

This. The worst of it is that they are supposed to give 'the benefit of the doubt' to the attacker, but in practice that never happens. Simple solution, of course, would be a video ref. Offside is only flagged if it is absolutely clear, say a body's width. All close calls are allowed to proceed, and if a goal directly ensues from the attack, the video ref either confirms offside, or not. This could be done in less time than goal celebrations.

Or do away with offside completely. Goal hanging was an art in the school playground

Insigne was not good when he came on last night...dont why cassano came on instead of Immobile.

It implies that the 'foreigners' are to blame. Otherwise, you should express your self more clearly.
It implies that it might be a mistake to choose the line-up based on things other than their skill on the pitch.

Whether that's the case with the swiss team, I have no idea and I don't care.

With some of these wonky scores and eliminations, I'm ready for Costa Rica vs. Chile in the finals!

Tension here in the US about tomorrow's match. I'm hoping we can at least come away with a tie, before the Germans teach us how the sport is really played.

. But the interresting thing is when shooters lose their nerves by either shooting the ball to the stars or wide like Vanderjagt.
Except Vanderjagt didn't lose his nerves, someone paid him to miss. No way someone that accurate in that dome misses a routine kick that badly. Call me a conspiracy theorist, I don't care.
