Better to catch the cheats, so I wouldnt say its a sad day. I like to see it as a good day and the more that are caught out and the higher the profile the better. Everyone knows its happening so catch em and clean it up rather than just talking about it.

how does replacing a doped "cheat" with a doped "rider" rectify the fundamental issue.

And the individuals who are invested in the sport, and post, fans "like you and I" are also facilitators and pieces of the problem, and have some guilt. Yes guilt. <puts hand up>

only solution to deny investment in the sport. (admit to a irreconcilable hypocrisy) I think JV proved that you cant change it from within. It co-opts you with expediency. I dont think the truth can alter the pragmatics and behaviour, because it never gets any significant coverage.

The dope tests dont work for one. That should be your starting point, and as soon as you realise that throwing out one cheat, will not be a simple arithmetic of having one less cheat in the peloton. You have the same number of riders.

It looks like aside from the team's riders, Bruyneel has been late with his payments to McQuaid as well.

He's slipping.
At first I was thinking that weird things happen when Bruyneel doesn't join the team, but the reality is probably that Johan just doesn't have the clout these days.

Nah. I want to go to a situation in which adults agree with each other to behave in a civilized manner on a constructive basis

This is still dealing with the issue of whether or not it's wise to comment on any rider's "adverse analytical result" before all of the excuses are made and hearings held.

The part I'm interested in is the culture of the peloton. There are a small number of riders, like Ricco, who other riders feel free to put the boot into. But most big names attract only very circumspect comment at best when doping issues arise. I would have thought that Frank would fall into the latter category, so it is interesting that at least a few riders immediately made very hostile comments. Regardless of whether they would be wiser to wait until they had more information.

Guys start doing ridiculous things once they lose the tactical advantage of the geniuses known as Bjarne Riis and Johan Bruyneel. Shame, really.

no,Kim Andersen was the fixer behind CSC and Leopard. Dont believe the Riis in tears story. Kim was the equivalent of Johan on CSC Saxo then Leopard. He was the guy that arranged the "networks".

edit edit edit Kim not Rolf, sorry folks

Finally! No surprise. I wish Frandy, RNT, JB, Becca and anybody associated with the Lux team will just disappear for good.

I hope he will blame the hog and the team doc for the positive test :D

Wait, what?!.. Surely you have some sources for that postulate.

You mean Kim Andersen. And Riis certainly introduced some people to Cecchini and possibly to Fuentes.

But that may be OT.

Can't stand Frank but this is all a bit suspicious to me. Is Frank just the newest Landis, Heras, Hamilton rider?

So shack finally gets to stay in a castle instead of a crummy formula 1 hotel and now they have the police to keep them company.

Is the Bastille considered a castle? If so then they might get to stay in a second one. :D
