I wonder why Dawg searches his own name and blocks everyone that says negative thinsg about him on twitter?

seems rather.. crazy.

Isn't that something many celebrities (hire someone to) do? I'm not sure how I'd cope with the twitter negativity.

Didn't block me yet...

A little strange by the way..

This is my most recent responds to his tweets: (Kimmage wondering about his TT)

Chris Froome ‏@chrisfroome 4. jul.
@PaulKimmage In 2012 major focus on TT with long TDF TT’s & Olympic TT. Haven’t spent half as much time on my TT bike this year, no point.

@chrisfroome @PaulKimmage Does this mean you will be better in the mountains than in 2012-13?

mrhender ‏@cleanversion 4. jul.
@chrisfroome @PaulKimmage 1) Surely spending much time on your TT bike this year could have been a marginal gain? Why not pursue that option

mrhender ‏@cleanversion 4. jul.
@chrisfroome @PaulKimmage 2/) when you have pursued bonus sprint's for marginal gains last year.. Are marginal gains only to explain leaps?

This is your response to his posts. He replied to Kimmage but not you. I dont see what you are trying to prove here.

Its not personal at all, I'm just saying maybe he is fed up with people like you (ie people who tweet him with your views) and then blocks. I haven't passed any opinion on you at all, so no reason to report me at all.

I'am not trying to prove anything...

Over the last year or so, people have reported being blocked for nothing by just mentioning his name..

I know he did not reply to me, but I replied to him and he did not care or block me even though some has been blocked for just mentioning his name.. That was all...

speaking of heartrate, wasn't Dawg on the radio with Brailsford after the alien attack?

I believe so, and so what? Whats the issue? He attacks, he's pushing - he gets on the radio, probably to say "how much have I got on AC?". Why is that a problem? Or do you think he was there saying "shall I inject now, or later?". Seriously - get a grip.

It gives an upper bound on how straining the 1000w effort was for Froome. Apparently not even out of breath enough to prevent him being articulate on the radio. :p

The fact that you guys chose to discuss some obviously flawed graphs is beyond me. It's like whatever happens, there is a doping angle to play. It's quite amusing.

Fair enough. I've tweeted to many famous people - rarely do they reply. I guess its the same for you - we're small fry. I thought you were trying to make a point that he hadn't replied. in reality maybe that was a vain hope.

I can corroborate this. I got blocked a couple of days ago. Literally the only time I have ever tweeted him was to congratulate him on his imminent fatherhood. I mentioned his name once I think, in a very mild joke about losing so much weight recently that I was worried that I would look like his arms. I didn't actually tweet that to him, mind, so someone must have search for his name if it was indeed that that sparked my getting blocked.

What is odd is that I checked and Sky nor the Cound nor anyone else in Sky have blocked me. All seems very bizarre to me.

I have retweeted Digger though. I assume that that is enough.

I haven't tweeted to many famous people.. Only have one twitter account and it's mainly about doping in cycling...

I don't expect do get many replies from famous people, nor is it a success criteria for me ;)

Like

Maybe you were unlucky - I guess all the riders get hundreds of tweets everyday at the Tour. I'm sure Bertie blocks loads too.

Yes, if Froome paid me 100 million pounds to code him a sophisticated blocking algorithm, I'd start with compiling a list of the most notorious problem individuals, and let the blockage spread based on their social network connections. Sprinkle in some text analysis, but not too much, and that should deal with most of the negativity. Inevitably, there will be false positives.

SeriousSam is the greatest, but the Froome is a doper!
Would that post slip through?

Should depend on whether you've actually done something wrong.

I got blocked this morning, I tweeted about Festinaboy, I was saying Vayer's Ventoux files are not about IF Froome dopes, which he does, but how much :D :p

Well, I didn't comment at all. I'm not even sure the RTs had Froome's @ on it, so clearly someone (or an algorithm!) is seeking people to block. His prerogative, of course, but does come over as more than a little paranoid.

There'd be some false negatives as well, this might well be one of them

I was commenting on the psychological side of things. I think most people convince themselves they're innocent anyway, but even if not, I think persistent negativity would be uncomfortable to deal with for most people regardless of whether it's deserved.

In my case, I assure you, I do not spend any time or effort in tweeting Froome or tweeting about Froome. I spend a lot more time tweeting about cows. So either someone blocks Alberto fans, or their networks, or someone is actively looking for anything the least bit negative to get upset about. To respond to a hail of harassment or abuse by blocking people is one thing. To actively search out people who RT stuff you don't like to the extent he/she/it must have done to find the perhaps 10 RTs of Digger I've made in the 1000s of tweets alluding to him or mentioning his name there must be on twitter during the TdF is pretty extreme in my book. (Esp. since I'd bet Digger is also blocked). I'm not exactly Stephen Fry.

don't get personal???? you accuse Froome and I assume others with no real knowledge of anything. based on the methods that would get you laughed at by a competent scientist (or grade schooler) and your worried about how you are treated?
