According to the frontpage and the article written by Susan Westemeyer, the Ronde van Vlaanderen will not ride over the Eikenmolen climb in 2010, bad news for Devolder then.

Anyone remember that the UCI wanted to extend the ban on race radios or orejas?

They pushed really hard and got... The Worlds. That's it. Nothing more. Only the World Championship in Melbourne will be done without RR. According to wielerupdate (dutch)

If it's a full ban, that's a step. The ban the UCI was talking about a couple months ago was silly - to only ban riders talking to the DS. It would be better to have that backwards, or for the riders to be able to get info from one channel from race officials.

As I said before though, it's not so much the full radio ban, as it is the immediate availability and transference of information to the car, such as time splits, GPS tracking, even rider wattage or HRM information, etc. That is what allows team cars to factor in exactly how much energy for riders to expend, and exactly when to start to chase down breaks or counter attack.

Was that ever considered?

From what I understood, they were always going to keep allowing the DS to talk to the riders due to "safety" reasons.

Apparently Bettini is being sued for tax evasion, allegedly due to a (fictitious?) address in Monaco, where he never really lived... It's said to amount to 11 million (Euro I presume).

Wielerland or biciciclismo

You would think Bettini would of learned a lesson or two from Cipo. If you are going to say you live in Monaco, better to wake up there every morning then in Tuscany.

No one has ever been able to convince Bettini that he isn't above the law or that the rules apply to him.
