That was blindingly obvious in the last 5 k.movingtarget said:Considering how early Dumoulin got dropped it just shows that Nibali and Quintana haven't got much left in the tank either.

We'll find out but I think people are going to be disappointed.
TBH, he did not attack because he was dead.wolvie15 said:RattaKuningas said:There is no reason for Quintana to attack for handful of seconds because everyone has to save every energy they have left. I think that he is going to have a try tomorrow and it is possible that Dumoulin cracking changed his plans. If you can take time without attacking you have to take it. 1 minute for free basically with no extra energy spent.
I kind of agree. Why risking tiring yourself when there is still a mountain stage left ? He only had to follow Nibali. He and Nibali are equal in TT. Nibali has to attack . Quintana, once he saw Dumoulin cracking did not need to. It lacks panache. But it makes tactical sense

Bad shape or not.
I agreed. Taunting as the best climber and the top favorite... he showed meh in the 3rd week. A bit disappointing. Froome will eat him alive in the TDF. Hope Contador can stay upright and arrives in superb form. Otherwise, Froome will kill everyone in the first week already.
I think if Zakarin or Pinot risk it all on Grappa, they both have a great chance of winning the whole thing. Even with their dodgy descending, it's clear they are the two strongest contenders right now and need to make the day as hard as possible. They should forget the 'names' in front of them and just ride it based on how everyone else looks right now.Son of Amsterhammer said:So it probably comes down to who wants it the most tomorrow. They should all be exhausted at this point.

I wish all riders spoke with as much honesty as he does at the end of a stage...jsem94 said:No ****** excuses from Tom today. Well spoken.
It is Unzue's theory that Nairo reacts better to riding two grand tours. He is better in the 2nd GT.DFA123 said:He did look like this in the Tour last year though, and then was absolutely flying for the whole three weeks in the Vuelta. His form doesn't seem to follow the orthodox theory so much. Nor does Valverde's, so maybe its something in their preparation and training.Irondan said:Nairo is certainly not the climbing dream he used to be, can he be that by the Tour?Zinoviev Letter said:Froome must be laughing and laughing. I agree, they're riding very well right now and have teams that can put pressure on the others with the hope to make something happen. It's all possible for them two right now, probably more so than the others.DFA123 said:I think if Zakarin or Pinot risk it all on Grappa, they both have a great chance of winning the whole thing. Yeah, you also can't really compare a rider in the break to those in the favourites group. It's just completely different racing dynamics and different energy usage.Arked said:Red Rick said:Whoever wins the Giro, he owes Wilco Kelderman. In the heat of the moment it's easy to forget how embarrassing is his TT. I seriously doubt he would gain enough time in the mountains to make up for this.

Nibali has it as mucho as possible and I think he'll still win.Red Rick said:It's more than Quintana being bad. He's profiting from his team as well. If Nibali really had it this year, he'd have creamed him by now.
It's not at all.therhodeo said:Lets all pretend like the tour isn't crap every year anyway.
