Why? Plenty of more climbing to come. Yates can gain sufficient time

Isn't the concern that Yates's form will drop off in the third week and that he really needs to make as big gains as possible while he can? It's incredibly hard to start a GT on top form and finish it still at 100%.

Good ride from Tom, but can't agree with commentator it's a good result. With 4 more summit finishes to come, Yates needs to gain far less on each than he has on the ones so far to get the necessary gap.

Yeah but not each climb is a Zoncolan ofcourse.

I think the boni seconds are going to play a huge role. The amount of boni's Yates already had compared to Dumoulin or Froome is massive

Im no skyfan and no froome fan either, I guess I dislike them more actually.

This however was great. Froome didnt give up, didnt throw the towel like previous Sky leaders at the giro. He took the blows on the chin and kept on trying and today he wins.

Well I love it.

Yates does a HUGE step for winning the Giro

Dumoulin limited the damage well, but I doubt it is enough with 4 mountain finishes remaining.

Yates needs more time tomorrow. Dumoulin did as expected.

Yates has gain 104 seconds on road stages already and probably needs c. 30 seconds more with half the climbing in this race still to go.

Looking hard for Tom to win unless Yates declines.

I hate Froome. I really do. But his revival comes at the perfect moment. He is crazy enough to attack with 50k to go, and he'll need it. Him being in contention for the overall gives an extra dimension to the race.

VMT, one of few things I like and admire about Froome is his attitude. He's certainly not a quitter and, for all the boredom of the Sky train at the Tour, he has provided his fair share of memorable moments.

Rohan Dennis only lost 2:35. He was 12s behind Aru. Top 10 is still in reach.

They're not all Zoncolan, and yet so far, he's gained time on all of them.

I am pretty sure that most of us did stupid and ridiculous things when we were young, but it was utterly hilarious that he put that "story" on his ridiculous book to show him as a tough guy. Mein climb is a goldmine anyway for many other hilarious stories.

Yeah, Yates wins this race comfortably if he can maintain the form he's had for the first two weeks. With that form, there are still four stages he can gain another 30 seconds or so on in the last week. It's a big if though.
